Donnie led Amelia upstairs, away from the people that were drinking their lives away or escaping to their own worlds. It would be bad for business for them to interupt them or startle some into leaving. They would not want to run customers away from the place they were working at and sleeping as well. They for sure didn't need anymore problems.

Sighing as he closed the door, Donnie looked over at Amelia. "I'm sure we can use some baths and some food and things before we go to bed or anything like that. The evening is still young for the most part. I'm sure we don't have to work until the morning again.," He sat on the bed and groaned. He wasn't use to getting into fights anymore so him fighting actually ached parts of his body.

"All we can do is hope Kellen comes and keep on with our business until we know for sure," He said.

Amelia sighed. "Yea, I guess, but can we at least do something in the meantime. I just don't feel so good. home sick, maybe?" She gave a weak smile up to Donnie. "And this dress is killing me. Maybe we could eat dinner up here so i can wear my old clothes? you too. Don't you think that would be nice?" She sat up on the bed. Her stomach started to hurt for food and she was bored making it hard to keep her mind off of it.

She stood up. "Let's go get some food okay? And find something to do up here." She grabbed Donnie's warm hand and pulled him to his feet, forcing him to follow her down to the bar. When they got down there she asked Fin if Donnie and her could have some dinner. He pointed to the cabinet. She made her way to the cabinet to grab whatever seemed good enough to eat for dinner. "Hey Fin, what do you do around here for entertainment?" Fin put a deck of cards on the bar counter. "Poker." He smiled. Amelia smiled and grabbed the cards as well. "Could we maybe have some alcohol to go along with this game?" She gave a big smile hoping it would work. Fin couldn't say no, but he wasn't stupid about it. He gave them a bottle that was only one fourth of the way full. "Have fun you too." He winked, letting them know it was their time to go up to their room so Fin could go back to work.

Once up stairs, Amelia asked Donnie to help her undress. She was a bit embarrassed, but starting to get use to the fact that he was going to see her undress a lot. She quickly got into her old clothes and felt relief. She plopped down on the bed and grabbed a piece of bread, stuffing her face with it. "So what do you want to play first?"

Donnie could understand where Amelia was coming from. With all of this going on, it was hard not to miss home. Here they had no real home, and were getting into plenty of messes. She was right, they needed a little bit to lighten up their time there since they couldn't do much else.

Donnie followed suit as she led the way and changed easily once they were back upstairs. He could tell there was less tension about changing then there was previous time. It was something of a relief that the awekwardness of changing wouldn't be adding on to the rest of their odd time and place.

Grabbing a bite to eat as well, he shrugged. "You might not believe it, but I've only played cards a few times." Donnie said taking a bite and the chuckling. He didn't know many card games. She would probably end up having to teach him.

Amelia smiled. "How can you not know any card games? What did you do for fun when you were little?" She paused to let him respond and for her to get a nice size piece of cheese on the rest of her bread. "Do you at least know how to play go fish?" She gave him a smirk and started to deal out the cards. Once the each had seven cards, she spread the rest of the deck across the bed. She looked down at her hand, two of hearts, seven of spades, queen of hearts, seven of diamonds, eight of clubs, four of hearts, and a Jack of spades. She started off with setting down the two sevens. "So do you have any twos?" She looked back down to her hand, almost all hearts. It made her mind linger on the thought of who she liked, and of course Donnie was the first to pop in her head. She blushed, not hearing what Donnie's answer was. She looked up to him and saw his beautiful blue grey eyes. They almost made her drool until she remember he was right in front of her. Her face reddened more as she bowed her head, asking what he said.

Luckily, Donnie did know how to play Go Fish. It was silly, but at least he knew that one and wouldn't have to look even more wierd in front of Amelia. "I have 1," he said, but then she didn't say anything back at first.

Donnie wasn't sure what was going on, but she seemed interested in him. Did he have something on his face? Then he noticed a light blush come on to her face. It was one of the moments that he wished that he could hear what she was thinking, or know what she was thinking about. Sometimes girls could be hard to read. Then again, that was how life always was and always would be.

"I have 1?" He repeated when she asked.

Amelia heard the question in his voice and knew he was wondering what was going on. She took the two and laid her two of hearts with it on the bed. She looked at the cards almost jealous. Her two of hearts lying in bed with his two of spades. It was weird of her thinking about cards as beings, but she couldn't help but to think about it. "Do you have any queens?" She was willing to get rid of her heart cards from her hand as soon as possible. She brought her head up to face Donnie, though she could still feel the warmth in her face from blushing.

Donnie smiled. "No, go fish." He said triumphantly, chuckling at himself. He then looked through his own hand. "Do you have any 7's?" He asked.

Quickly he asked something else though. "Are you okay?" He asked. Donnie was just the type of person to worry about her. They had come so far together in what little time they had actually be around each other or even knew each other and under odd circumstances like failing a class. He knew they were at least friends at this moment.
Somehow he knew that it wasn't that she was sick or hurting in any way.

Amelia reached for her cards and thought of his questions. She spoke softly; "Go fish..." Her new card was an ace of hearts, one of the loner cards. She tucked it behind her Jack of spades and thought of his other question. She didn't know if she was okay. She didn't feel unhappy or happy, nor did she feel mad or anything else. "I just wish everything would go back to the way it was. That's all." Her heart sank, feeling heavier then ever was. Even though she had been depressed before and she had been ignored before this was completely different something she never felt before. She took a deep breathe and spoke once more; "Do you have any fours?"

"Yes," Donnie said as he handed over a four. Before dwelling on her words, he silently realized why he didn't play many card games. He ultimatly just seemed to suck at them all. He then looked up at her as he handed her the card.

"I know how you feel. This is all.... too much. It's like a movie. Not even a very good one, at that. It's one of those things that should have happened to someone else and we should have read on the news. But it's.... not." Donnie commented. It was the best way he could think to describe what was going on with them. It all just seemed so impossible. No matter where they were or what time, though, he didn't want to see Amelia unhappy or down. So he said the first that that came to his mind after.

"But even if we are in some crappy movie-like existence, I honestly don't think I would have chose someone else to venture it with," He said cheesily. Sure Donnie didn't have many friends to begin with because he stayed a lot to himself, but if it made her feel better, it was worth stating.

Amelia put the fours together putting them next to her twos and sevens. She only had four cards left, two of them hearts.

Amelia listened to his words, He got most of her troubles, but she still felt something more. She wanted how she felt about him back to the way it was. All these weird feelings, she just wanted them to go away. He didn't help them when he said the second part. She could feel the color rushing back to her checks. She didn't know what to think of it and what to say. So she said what came to mind in a small low voice; "I wouldn't of chosen differently either." A smile cross her face. "I didn't think some one could be bad at go fish, but you managed to do it. Do you have any Aces?"

Donnie scatched his head. Yeah who would have thought that someone could be so bad at cards? He suppose everyone had their weak points though. "I know right. Ugh. Yeah I do. You probably have my other card too," He said laughing. Playing cards was a nice change of pace, but the pressure they were under was still their, hanging in the air.

"Well do you need anything? Like water or something?" Donnie asked, still not sure what was wrong with her. Maybe it was because he was a guy and it was almost nature for guys and girls to simply not understand each other.

Amelia took the Ace from him, tempted to just look at his cards, but she decided against it. "No I don't need anything. Do you have a queen? You didn't before." She flashed a small smile at him, it went away when she heard a knock on the door. Her eyes glued to the door, it almost felt like she hearing things. While waiting for the knock again, she wondered what they should do about their clothing, if she wasn't hearing things, but the knock just happened again. It sounded frantic, like an emergency of some sort, but i feel like Fin would have just given us a head ups before rushing in if it was.

Amelia's heart started to pound, she started to feel afraid. She took her eyes off of the door and looked at Donnie. She took a deep breathe and started to walk towards the door.

She slowly opened the door, preparing herself for what ever was behind it, but before she could fully open the door the man that was behind it rushed in, almost knocking Amelia to the ground.

After the man slammed the door shut, Amelia got a better look at him. He was short and skinny, wearing ratty clothing. The man also seemed out of breath and nervous. It took a bit of time before he started to pace about the room trying to tell us what he was suppose to. "Yo..you see I..I am here to tell yo..you that you nee..need to meet up with th..the professor." He paused for a bit, still pacing back and forth in the room. She looked at Donnie to see his reaction, but it was hard to take her eyes off of the stranger in the room.

Donnie hadn't expected the knock. He was expecting to go ahead and loose the game and move onto another one, happy as long as they were doing something to keep themselves occupied and generally happy. Of course, time never seemed to stop for them.

Amelia opened the door and a frantic man rushed in. Donnie wasn't sure what to expect, but there wasn't much time before the man rushed in to when he explained why he was there, luckily for them. His words made Donnie stop, and slightly gape at the man.

"So it worked? The proffessor was in the prison?! Where do we need to meet her?" He asked hurriedly, almost as fast as the man had rattled his own words off. This was it. Maybe, just maybe they could finally figure this out and a way back home! He moved closer to Amelia just in case the frantic man was bad, awaiting an answer.

Amelia took Donnie's hand in hers and kept staring at the man. "Ye..yes. She is waiting under. under the bridge." He blinked his eyes about four times before realizing he would have to take us to the bridge. "Oh.... sorry. But i. I can... can not take you." He look back and forth, before fretting over to the small window in the room and checking outside.

This man made Amelia extremely nervous. The way he moved and the way he talked, nothing about him she liked, but she knew she had to find the Professor no matter what. "Here'sss a map." The man handed Donnie a piece a paper. It was crinkled and folded as neatly as the man could manage.

The weird man looked back and forth and checked the window once more before he left their room, leaving Donnie and Amelia alone with the map.

Donnie held the paper tightly, and guided Amelia over to sit down. He could tell she was a little rattled by the man. Then again, who wasn't? Donnie had even been a little wierded out. But assuming that the man had also been imprisoned made sense to why he would have been acting like that. He was hoping like hell it wasn't a trap. This was now their only lead.

He spread out the paper to make sure he could see it all well enough and then sat beside Amelia so she could take a gander at it as well. Donnie noticed that the bridge was a little further out of town, deffinatly not near the prison.

"We could make this trip tonight?" Donnie asked Amelia to see what she thought about it. They could wait till the next day or night, but sooner might be the better choice.

Amelia followed Donnie's lead and sat down. She looked at the map. It was weird to see that it was hand drawn. She also looked to see if she could recognize the writing, unfortunately she didn't.
Amelia nodded. She knew they shouldn't wait any longer then they had to. Even if it was a trap. " Should we tell anyone? Like maybe Fin?" She worried that Fin would wonder what they were up to or worse follow them. Though Fin was a nice guy, she didn't want to take any chances. Telling him something along the lines of they were going on a date later wouldn't raise any worries, rather then just sneaking out. Also she suggested that they wore their new clothes, as much as she hated putting that dress on.
And that is what she did. She got ready by putting her dress on and making sure her back pack was full and ready. She really didn't want to leave anything behind just in case.
