Default Recommend me some good manga   #1
I have way fallen out of reading manga, I probably haven't picked up a new series (or hell, touched any of my old) in years...just fell out of it.
We'll I'd like to fall back in! So recommend me somethin, since I have no idea what's good or even out

-- some things:
I don't like slow paces, which...tends to cancel out a lot of manga for me lmao. Like X/1999 was the worst thing I ever read cos nothing ever happened, the pacing was like watching a snail trying to go over a giant log in its way, holy moo

I like more mature books but I can read anything as long as its good

Umm I can't think of anything else.......

Let's see if I can make some suggestions based on stuff I have.

Chrono Crusade: Seems rather fast paced to me since I felt like a lot of stuff happened over the eight volumes. Might have a bit too much humor to really be considered mature though.

Rurouni Kenshin: Had a few slow spots but for the most part stuff moved along nicely. Definitely mature-ish since it deals with "value of life" kind of issues.

Cardcaptor Sakura: Not really much filler so I'd say probably fast paced? I always think of it as mature because it had some heavy issues in it, even if most of them had to do with love.

Those are the top three I'd recommend out of my collection anyways. Nothing new though since I haven't bought manga in years >.>

Mangas :D

First I would recommend Berserk. It's pretty dark at some point, and surprisingly dialogue heavy. The story is really good though, and I loved most of the characters in it. The only downside to this one is that it's update very oddly, I taught it was each 2 months but apparently not. Still and awesome and pretty long read. (we have 35 volumes where I am)

Secondly, I really like Black Cat, I think this might be one of my favorite series, and I like it much much more than the anime (that had a very strange ending that literaly came out of nowhere), the characters are awesome although the main villain is kinda pretty fruity and flamboyant. (And I friggin' love Eve :D)

I would also recommand anything by Tsutsomu Nihei, like BLAME!, BLAME! Gaiden, Biomega and such. They all have a really interesting art style and some interesting idea behind them.

Other than that, I guess the mainstreams one like One Piece, Fairy Tail and the likes. They're popular for a reason xD

I also really like Hekikai no Aion, wich I think got out in the US as Aion. I kinda like where the story is heading and the mermaids they got in this are damn creepy. (yes, the main character is fighting evil mermaids.) The main character is pretty cute too (she looks kind of like Tamaki from Bamboo Blade) and is pretty much immortal except some condition (wich of course are the worse to fight against Mermaids lol).

I think these should be okay for now xD
I don't even

Ohhh um...I don't know the difference? XD; I'll have to go look those words up
-- oh ok, I looked them up! Either, I guess! Since I do like DBZ but I also love Akira (the manga more than the anime tho I like the latter too) and Battle Royale EXCEPT FOR THE ENDING HISS SPIT SNARL ....*cough*
Um haha sorry ... but yeah, either/or

Is Rurouni Kenshin the same as the TV show or different? Cos I was kind of bored by the anime BUT to be fair I'd only seen a few episodes and it was a loooong time ago I might like it now

Hmm yaoi preferences ... here, let me just list what I've read/liked, that'll probably give you a good idea to go from!

Read and loved:
FAKE, Pet Shop of Horrors (does that count? Counts for me lol), Hoshi no Yakata (...yeah that one's straight up porn tbh), I think I liked what little I read of Legal Drug, but I don't remember now...Demon Diary was kind of cute too
Ai no Kusabi is my favorite yaoi OVA of all time and someone even sent me the translated novel a long time ago and it's p good even if the translation makes it hard to understand sometimes

Read and did not like:
Gravitation, Loveless, one I read called Only the Ring Finger Knows that is so slow entire cities rose and fell between chapters
and I can't think of many others...

Basically if the characters are too stereotypical or annoying, or it's all about ~feelings~ and nobody even kisses its hard for me to be interested unless something *else* is going on that's interesting

Hm...my tastes are rather on the gory side.

Jackals (...Whee, lots of fighting and bloodshed x___X;)
Wolf Guy (Has a bit of explicit stuff.)
Akumetsu (Don't mind the R-rated stuff in the first chapter. That's the only bit.)
Dogs (both the intro and the main series...One of them is called Bullets and Carnage, and I can't remember which)
Hellsing
Abara (haven't finished this one yet. Kind of disturbing.)
Deadman Wonderland (working on this right now)
Darren Shan (Decent story.)
Trace (A really, really nice manwha)
Vagabond (R-ratedness, but lots of decent...other stuff.)
Sidooh (more ronin-type manga)
Anuki

Cardcaptor Sakura is twelve volumes long. I'm a bit biased because it's my favorite manga ^^; FAR better than the anime too, and I watched the uncut anime.

As for Kenshin, it does follow the anime pretty well, though I think there's less filler.

Multiply Six by Nine
Deadman Wonderland, yes. I always feel the need to put out there when recommending it, though, that there is heavy gore. It is not a series for the squeamish.

D.Gray Man is worth a read.

Mmmm. I've fallen out of reading lately, I've been having trouble remembering what I've read in the past >:

Fullmetal Alchemist is always a must. Switch was interesting. I'm not sure about the pacing on that one (I need to pick it up back again), and it can be pretty graphic with drug usage (doesn't promote it, but it revolves around Narcotics officers and there's some people they deal with on some pretty vicious hallucinogens). Togainu no Chi was interesting, as well. I haven't seen much of it online, but if you can procure it irl, go for it.

Annnnd. I give up for now orz

I love Angel Sanctuary! I am a little sad they only made it an OVA but its understandable because the themes in it are way to a hot topic issue even though i love them personally also DN Angel was amazing at least what I could read up too! Arm of Kanon is pretty wonderful as well i could give a couple Yuri suggestions but most are all loveydovey with porn in it so yeah

I actually think the Cardcaptor Sakura anime was superior to the manga ^_^* Neither of them are remotely "adult"... they're aimed at little girls, though Japanese little-kid comics get away with things (like gay characters) that American comics just don't do.

I was going to come in here and recommend everything Yoshinaga Fumi has ever written because she's amazing, but she writes quiet slice-of-life things, so you might find her stuff boring. (Garden Dreams, a one-shot, is my absolute favorite manga I have ever read.)
