Laurel continued to glare at him before suddenly moving and straddling him with her knees on the bed. She grabbed his head and head-butted him, "You boulder!" she shouted, "I'm trying to break up with you and you're not even paying attention!"

[Kaliko]

Blaze was taking her time getting to the infirmary.

[Rinrou]

Laurel hit his head again with hers, "Crust..." she muttered, closing her eyes to shield them from the light and letting her head fall to rest on his chest, "I wish... I could hate you."

[Kaliko]

A little while later Blaze came walking in with another lollypop in her hand.

[Rinrou]

Laurel hadn't moved, still straddling Nic with her face hidden in his chest.

Kale actually looked pretty mad at Blaze when she finally came in.

[Kaliko]

Blaze walked over to Kale and handed him the lollypop, not noticing Laurel and Nic.

[Rinrou]

Kale pointed at Laurel and Nic, "Neither of them are responding now. Laurel blew up, Nic's mentally checked out," he summarized, "I don't want a damn lolipop, fix them!"

[Kaliko]

Blaze seemed a little startled as she saw Nic and Laurel. And then she seemed to get irritated that Kale was irritated at her for doing nothing. It was clear she wasn't happy as she put the lollypop down on the stand before going over to yank Laurel off Nic.

[Rinrou]

Laurel wouldn't let go. It took a lot of get her off of him. "He's says he'll never let me go. But he does all the time. He checks out all the time; he leaves me alone all the time!" she stated loudly, her eyes still closed as she vented.

[Kaliko]

Blaze didn't say anything as she gradually got Laurel off of Nic.

[Rinrou]

Laurel suddenly turned and forced her eyes open painfully again, "Why did you come get me?" she demanded, "I don't want to be here!"

[Kaliko]

Blaze said nothing as she put Laurel back in her chair. "Just rest," she snapped a little. "Both of you have had a rough time and just aren't capable of supporting the other right now - regardless of how much you both want to. So if you want answers, take some time for yourself and recuperate. Then sort it out when you both are feeling better."

[Rinrou]

Laurel paused before sighing and finding her sunglasses on the ground. She put them on and nodded, "I'll wait until he recovers," she replied quietly, "But then I need answers."

Kale watched silently.

[Kaliko]

Blaze appeared to be done talking. She turned and started walking out of the infirmary.

[Rinrou]

Kale let her leave without a word.

Over the next couple days, Laurel continued to nurse Nic though she purely did her job. She talked to him only when necessary and continued to read him to sleep. When she wasn't nursing Nic, she was down in the shooting range.

As the days passed as Nic got stronger, the nurse told Nic that he could start walking slowly around the room but he needed to be supported by Laurel. She told the same thing to Kale and Blaze.

So Laurel stood by Nic's bed as he moved his legs over the side and prepared to stand. She took his arm and waited.

Nic had barely said anything to Laurel, but then again what else was new. He took a few minutes to flex his feet and stretch his muscles before trying to stand.

Blaze waited to see how sitting up went.

Raven had tried to take some time out for himself over the last few days. But with Wolfe sulking, most of the babysitting fell to him.

Yue was still taking awhile to recover. At no point was it clear what she needed or wanted. She just seemed confused. And a little scared.
