Looking over to the door he was caught by surprise. He quickly finished wrapping up his hand headed for the door opened it up looking out to see Mimi. "Hey what bring you all the way here?" he asked blinking seeing a small bag in her hands. "Oh hey, is that from the lady a few floor down?" he asked as he opened the door all the way. He had the dark bruise on his visible eye and the bandages wrapped around him. As he held out his hand with a smile like nothing was wrong. "I am glad you could come by, I'm guessing your here on a mission I take it?"

The sight of Kareno's injuries game the dark-haired girl pause for a moment. "Uh, yeah, Tseng asked me to pick up some paperwork. The person who gave me directions said this was to thank you for cleaning her apartment... Kareno, are you alright? You look like the people who lose in Battle Square," she said worriedly. She let herself in and set the food down on a nearby table.

"Hmmm yeah, I'm okay." as he watched her come in, then shut the door. "Why do you ask?" as he walked over to the table to open up the small bag smiled some. "Oh she made a beef bowl with some fresh fruit and chocobo eggs. This is wonderful, I thought I was going to have pop's left over today but I wont. Oh, yeah I went to the store last night got all the things for the pot, it's all in the frige should I work on it tonight and we can bring it over after work or should I wait?" he asked then it dawn on him she was here for the left over paper work. "That is right your here for my dad's papers it in his office over there." as he walked into another room.

Mimi gaped after the light-haired young man and followed him. "Um, Gaia to Kareno, you've got bandages all over you! If you're hurt this bad, you should be recovering in bed!" she half-yelled. "Jeez, man, how many of those Upper Plate guys were there?!" She stopped then. She wasn't sure if she was meant to know that he had been beaten up. After all, it wasn't like she'd picked up the phone that morning when he'd called Tseng's office.

"This is common, it happens a bit, in the end it starts with four which I can handle then after a while then come out of the wood work. I can't really rest, if I did I couldn't get anything done." he said. As he looked over to her then headed into the office room. "This is all the papers it seems my old man "forgot" or he was just to lazy to even finish or he did finish just he forgot to bring it in." as he leaned against the door frame. "Most people never ask why I look like this at time but its been going on for so long I just pretend everything is okay and that nothing is wrong maybe in away, things would change a little for me. Maybe I hope I can be the same as everyone else instead of some experiment for them. . .am I really all that different?" he asked as he looked around the room then to his wrapped hand.

With that last sentence, things were beginning to fall together in Mimi's thoughts. She glared at the floor for a moment before taking the papers and putting them on the table next to the door. Facing away from him, she let out a sigh of frustration and said, "Ya know, that kind of attitude is really annoying."

She spun around to look at him with a stern expression. "Of course you're different from everyone else! If everyone were the same, things would get really boring really fast! So what if you have a few more idiosyncrasies than other people? It's not a bad thing. From the stories I've heard about your dad, weird runs through your veins like mako runs through the planet.

"Why not flaunt what makes you stand out instead of hiding it? If you keep berating and beating yourself up like this, it's like giving everyone else a free pass to do the same. Take my first day at ShinRa as an example. I tried to make myself appear to others as plain and normal as possible, and you saw how that worked out. I was absolutely miserable and wound up destroying something in search of comfort. Then in you came after seeing my little trip of weirdness and didn't give a chocobo's tail feathers about it. That made me really happy, so I haven't held back around you since then.

"If you'll just let loose and be weird every now and then, maybe you wouldn't get the snot beaten out of you. You'll probably feel a lot better, too. Keeping yourself bottled up like this is really bad for you. I mean, come on, just look at the commander. He looks all pristine and perfect, but he's probably taking about a dozen different medications for stress, high blood pressure, insomnia, migranes, and a whole slew of other problems. Do you get what I'm trying to say?"

Instead of waiting for a reply, she went over to the containers of food and began to open them up and smell the contents. "Hey, this stuff smells really good!"

He looked over to Mimi he understood but it wasn't a weird that people hated about him, it was just cause he was treated a little better then most people. It wasn't like the way she thought about and it was something he knew that no one would really understand. "Thanks Mimi I'll try that. But I don't think it's being weird is what gets me to get target for upper plate kids any how. It's something else that I know, but I don't know maybe in due time you may understand may not." as he pushed away from the wall, walking over to the table.

"Yeah she always makes really nice food, if you wanna share some we can." he smiled some. It wasn't like he tired not to be none positive person it just made him wonder why he needed to have different diet from everyone and why was he always taken once month for test on strength, addiuted, and even blood it like he was allowed be there but had to be watched.

"Awesome!" she said and started snooping through his cabinets for flatware and silverware. "So how about you tell me a bit about yourself while we eat? I'll tell you about myself, too, not that there's much to tell." She helped him carry the food over to the table and set it out so they could both reach everything.

"Oh sounds fair to me, I don't mind really talking about anything." as he sat down got his part of the meal blinked some as he thought about what he wanted to ask her. "So why do you want to be a Turk and I thought most people from Wutai hated ShinRa?" he asked her first.

"I'm actually not from Wutai. My dad was, though. I was born in Corel, which is where my mom lives. I do look a lot like my dad, though, so lots of people think I'm from Wutai," she said as she loaded her plate with food.

"I decided to become a Turk so that I could see the world. Up until a couple months ago, I'd worked at the Golden Saucer since I was old enough to get a job.I was also really tired of pervy old men feeling me up and not being allowed to do anything about it. I mean, mountain folk like me are made of some really tough stuff, but you can't lay the smack down on paying customers. It's bad for business."

She sighed in a half-frustrated manner and shoved some food into her mouth. With her mouth still half-full of food, she asked, "So, how long have you been training to be a Turk?"

"I can understand that, its kinda like with the upper plate kids here and and how they are from well off families so I can't do anything against them cause I don't want them getting mad at Rufus." he said as he ate more food. "I have been in training since a kid, it's not like I had much to do ya know?"

"If you've been training for so long, how come you're not a full-fledged Turk by now? Or do you just not want to take the exams? 'Cause I can totally understand that," she said between mouthfuls. She glanced over his bandaged appearance again. A couple of spots were starting to look a little pink, but it didn't look like there were any grievous injuries.

"I have taken but my level is harder for me to pass. . . . " as he took another bite of food. "As I have said before, I'm really really different. The level you take I can do well so I have to have something different and on a much higher level then what most people would take." he explained. As he picked up the glass of juice that was next to him.

"Sounds really unfair. It's probably because your dad's a Senior Turk, and second-in-command to boot," she said before taking a swig of her own glass of juice. "Well then, is there anything else you'd like to ask me?"

"That could be it, but I never know why it is so hard. I mean it's all the training and everything I do is well done, but once it comes down to the final of fighting something strong, I have yo fight Sepirroth and that is hard, I can barely even last half way though the fight in the training room." he said getting another bite of food. "So how do you like the city so far? I mean how do you like the area and the people?"

She thought about it for a minute before answering. "Well, I guess it really depends on the part of the city I'm in. Sectors 3 and 4 are alright as long as you don't get too nosy. Sector 5 is a scrapyard, and Wall Market in Sector Six is pretty much a nightmare in neon lighting. Above the Plate... it's a lot cleaner, but it's still not very people-friendly. Sure, there's not as much physical violence going down, but Plate folks are a whole different kind of mean," she said with a sour look.

She ate a few more bites before continuing. "It's not all bad, though. Even though there are no mountains to climb, it's a lot of fun exploring the inner workings of the Plate. All I really have to watch out for there is the occasional train if I get close to the central support tower.

"There's also the other Turk recruits. Some of 'em are right snobs, but most of 'em are alright from what I can tell. Those of us that are able to advance will probably get a lot closer since we'll be trusting each other with our lives."
