Thank you for being so much of a nerd and explaining that so nicely XD. How did people figure out the date in the first place? They must have been educated right? How can there be so many discrepancies? I know it isn't like everyone always agrees on everything, but... Well whatever. There have been so many predictions of when the world was going to end...

Nobody can really tell WHY it was dec 12. All I think I know is that it's just a calendar created by myans and it came to a stop because the spaniards conquered their lands and just assumed that the last day on that month (that should have continued) is the day the world ends...I mean, spaniards thought that these natives were "spiritual" crazies.

But I mean how does it translate to that date if people aren't taking all of the historical calendrical changes? IDK. And I don't really care. If you think the world is going to end you tend not try to improve life for anyone.

I was just saying that that's the day most people think the apocolypse is -shrug-

Which is because of the Mayan calendar that was found in the 1900's. But since then people have been researching it more and more as the time is getting closer, and they noticed one flaw. Specifically that the mayans didn't have a leap year effect. So with that in mind they calculated the time when the Mayan calendar truly meant that the world would be over in days it happened last July. Which in and of itself is very cool to me, because that just shows how much Ceasar kind of saved us. Our seasons would be in a constant state of slight change. Over the past 2000 odd years its changed over a full year and a half from where the Mayans thought that the date should be.
I personally don't believe in the whole the world is going to end on 12/12/12. It really just feels like they just felt that that would be a good day to end their calendar, because they ran out of room on their circular calendars. But that's just me. I don't really go for things like that because if it happens it happens. No use wasting my time worrying about it. Or on the flip side I feel that some people may use it as an excuse to just act like whatever they want, because it doesn't matter because the world is going to end tomorrow. That would probably be the biggest amount of chaos is everyone doing stupid things. But like I said that is just my findings and then my opinion on the whole end of the world theory.

I personally don't think the world is going to end, and if it does I don't really care. Also, it's not really the end of the world. it's the end of humans. The world will live on, heal, new life will most likely form >_>
like if yellowstone park is meant to explode it will be a disaster somewhat like the meteor that killed the dinosaurs. life carried on after that just fine.

I kind of want to go to Yellowstone for the 'end'. if it doesn't happen i have a nice time at yellowstone, if i does i go out fast and in style.

I don't see the point in worrying about it ending either. if it does end we're all gone, and no one is left to be sad about it. All the worries, pains, hardships and so on that everyone has is gone. the planet no longer has to suffer at the hands of humans. Not really any downsides there XD

I'm off and on again bad at it. right now is off, I've got some pretty long nails for me. but one bad week and they'll be torn down to the quick again.

I can't grow mine. I have to wear plastic gloves at work and they kill my nails.
