I used to fancy that I was a decent writer. And I suppose I was, but only in putting words together to make them sound nice; better suited to poetry, and short poetry at that, but never prose, certainly never prose that required any kind of arc. I mostly wrote in emotions.

Ahh... But I do love that sort of writing. I'm a sucker for that perfect feeling in a piece, no matter how short it may be.

Yeah. I don't know. I've been thinking of maybe picking back up a little bit of writing, but ... oddly enough I feel embarrassed. Even if I'm the only one to ever read it I get extremely self-conscious. Anyway, I've taken up more tactile pastimes, like knitting and crochet. I realized when I was in high school that I never actually wrote much. And I really sucked at essays. I mean , if I finished them they generally turned out OK, sometimes even quite well, but I rarely could get myself to finish one...

Oh boy. Essays are an entirely different monster, and they suck like no one's business.

I had to do one for one of my classes once, where we did an oral presentation before turning it in? I read maybe half of one book on the person mine was about. Didn't write anything. Aced the oral part, had no essay to turn in. The look on my teacher's face after how well I did was spectacular.

... School writing. It kills your soul.

Yeah, they really suck but somehow, people who never had any interest in poetry or anything of the like (or at least, writing it) seem not to understand how writing them is different from writing something else. First of all, an essay requires an organization of thought. Yeah... that's the exclusion of me.

@Kali I am a Ravenclaw :)

Completely different kinds of thinking, that's for sure.

I'm super excited for what the next book has for us, no doubt.

Yah! Definitely... hmm, what is introduced in the book that would carry throughout the series?

Besides what's introduced, what's generally available in the second year that hasn't been in this one?

Probably because first years still need flying lessons.

You see where my hopes are.

Yes that is what I mean also. Hrm... I don't know how flying would work. Then again I suppose it could be something creative in its execution the way that spell-casting is.

Alrighty. I shall add you to the house list, I think that brings us up to 5 Ravenclaws.

Also, I'm thinking of adding Pottermore screen names in parenthesis next to everyone's names on the house list.

That sounds good to me :3.

I found this funny... a couple of weeks ago I went with my family to Biggby (it's a coffee place like Starbucks) and I had on a Hogwarts hoodie, and the barista says "so what house are you?" and I answer "Ravenclaw" and he says, "So you're a nerd, eh?". In my head I thought... you kind of have to be a bit of a nerd to know that.

I don't know. I just found that amusing.

Aha, that made me giggle.

By the way, don't think I've said it yet today... Puff is the best house!

I like the idea of adding screen names.

I have three sisters... two of them have read and like Harry Potter. I'm a Ravenclaw; my twin sister is a Slytherin; my second eldest sister a Gryffindor... and so we assigned by default my eldest sister to Hufflepuff, in conversation. And she was like, but no one important was from that house (she guessed by the way we were talking I think). And the three of us, in unison, reply "Cedric was a Hufflepuff!".
