I usually buy booster boxes or lots on either ebay or amazon myself. I only go to shops if I want to play against someone but the nearest one to me is 60 miles away so I only go maybe... Once every 3 months or so.

Try amazon then. Just type in Magic the gathering and you'll most likely find a lot of them. some sell for a penny but the shipping is like 12$

You can buy 1000 cards for under 20$ either way. The most expensive stuff are the lands.

Most of the time you don't get a crap load of the same card but it does happen. But the same thing would happen if you bought booster packs. Well I usually get a crap load of crap in booster packs so yeah - .-''

I'm excited to get my box of avacyn restored on Friday. But that means I need to resort my cards..... *cries* and my game shop is only 15 minutes from my house.

I used to live five minutes away from a card shop. That was back when pokemon cards first came out XD

And I suddenly found myself playing magic and pokemon... Never got anywhere with pokemon and magic I seemed to have a talent for o .o b

Off topic~ Does your shops have that pokemon gym leader matches and stuff? Mine did. I never even got my first badge XD

On another side note. If a guy walks up to you and challenges you to a MTG duel and he has a briefcase full of decks... Don't accept the challenge X. x

Magic tournaments are brutal at my shop > .<

I tend to stick to 2x2 duel tournaments myself. I wont attempt 1x1 until I get a plainswalker deck made up.

I had a hard time dueling someone with a planeswalker > .<

Not to mention having to learn how they work along the way. My sliver deck almost lost O nO. 5 years of never losing almost went down the drain because of this a-hole > .<
