Laurel paused surprised at how much Nic knew. "Not necessarily..." she replied after a moment, "I took Dedi because I was depressed and hated that I was selling myself for money. This time I'd have a goal." she paused, staring at the ground, "You see... I don't just get money. I get secrets from powerful people. And lots of them."

[Kaliko]

"... And you'll simple not take it anymore?" he asked.

[Rinrou]

Laurel sat back on the bed, eyeing Nic. "I haven't taken it for months now. Besides, Rosen would be doing it with me. If you'll feel more comfortable you can tell him about my drug problem and he'll keep an eye out for it." she stated a little sharply.

Nic looked a little confused at the mention of Rosen, but let it be. "... There are other ways of getting secrets," he noted for the record.

[Rinrou]

Laurel shook her head, "I know that. You have your way on the computer, Wolfe has his way with spies... this is my way." she stated firmly, "I was to be useful, Nic. I want to help in whatever way I can, and this is something I know I can do. I can do it really well in fact. I'm tired of sitting back and letting other people handle my problems." she sighed, crossing her arms.

After a moment, Nic nodded. "... We all do what we can do."

[Rinrou]

Laurel nodded again as she stared at Nic silently for a moment. She felt strange when she was with him now. But she couldn't place it. Like... more than ever before she wanted to be with him and talk with him. She wanted to have fun with him again. After a little bit she smiled, "And I wasn't exaggerating." she stated as her eyes got a little playful. Slowly she stood, jacket slipping off one shoulder to reveal the small strap of a tank-top as she smiled teasingly at Nic. The jacket slowly slid all the way off before she tossed it to the side and approached him. Even her walk was a well practiced lure.

Nic's expression didn't change, and he didn't appear to have any physical response to Laurel's change in demeanor.

Laurel continued to approach and when she reached him she maneuvered just as skillfully down onto his lap, straddling Nic and the chair he was sitting on. She placed her arms on his shoulders lightly as she tilted her head and laughed lightly. "See? I'm not half-bad, right?" she teased him, the show seemingly over. Then she suddenly leaned in to give him a quick peck on the lips as she did to Raven. But... when her lips touched Nic's, she didn't pull away. She found she didn't want to and without fully realizing what she was doing she leaned into Nic instead, hands wrapping around the back of Nic's head as she continued to kiss him. She felt a yearning for more and a deep warmth as she touched Nic, she didn't want to stop.

Overall, it wasn't much fun to tease Nic. Nothing Laurel did appeared to effect him as he sat there expressionless. But when she kissed him and leaned in, a little of the ice seemed to melt away. His body quickly became relaxed. After a short moment, he started kissing her back lightly. He took it very slow, trying not to scare her away. For now, his hands remained at his sides, seeing if she was comfortable with this first.

Laurel seemed more than comfortable as she remained wrapped up and captivated by the warmth which seemed to double as Nic returned her kisses. She hadn't realized how much she'd been craving his affection.

So Nic slowly kept going a little further to try and determine where her comfort level rested. His patience with her was quite remarkable. Almost to the point where he had removed his own desires from the equation.

Laurel remained completely content even as he eventually brought his arms up and touched her. But it was soon after this touch that Nic felt a bit of wetness on his cheek and it became apparent that she was silently crying.

When he felt the tear, Nic started to back off and pulled away a little so he could see her face.

Laurel let Nic pull away as the tears started to be accompanied by quiet sobs. She swallowed, eyes meeting Nic's and staying there. Her gaze was a little hard to read but it was clear she was not scared or hurt.
