Part of being a Navy Brat all my childhood, then a benefits consultant for company across the US, then managing prescription plans for companies across the US, I have always been aware of time zones.
When I went off to university and was basically "on my own" for he first time, many responsibilities which were taken care of by my parents became my own. One of those responsibilities was making sure to Fall Back and Spring Forward for Daylight Savings.
After many years of doing it, it became an automatic thing for me. So, when I moved to Arizona, I still did it. Oops Ó_Ò
My first year here, no one told me that Arizona doesn't do Daylight Savings.
I found out one night when I went afk from my Phoenix Locals chat room to change every clock and watch in my house. ALL OF THEM. When I returned to chat, I thought I would be helpful and remind others to do the same. THAT is when I found out that AZ doesn't do it (and I was picked on mercilessly by my friends- in a friendly manner, of course >.<).

So, does anyone else live in an area that doesn't do Daylight Savings?
Has anyone else had an experience where they did something by habit, only to find out afterward that it was all for naught?
Am I the only one to have these sorts of "*D'OH!*" moments?
Please tell me I'm not alone in this x_X

Here in Eastern Canada goes by DST! :] And I love it! The sun's out longer, the weather is more friendly and there's not as much icky rain when I'm umbrella-less (which is pretty much all the time)! >w<

Only thing is it's a bit hot. =w= And I love the cold much, much more. <3

Ari, I'm right there with you on cold is MUCH better than hot!!
The two times I was in Canada for more than a day (9 days in Nova Scotia, 4 days in Mississauga) it was hot and I think NS was humid (it was over 10 years ago).
The rental car I got in Toronto had no A/C, and I was like, "This is CANADA! Why is it so HOT?!" * yeah, yeah- insert ignorant American joke here :p *

So, you welcome the change of DST?
As a kid, I loved it in the Fall because it meant I got to stay up and extra hour past my normal bed time- but Spring sucked because I felt like I lost an hour D':

I've been in Arizona so long now (15 years as of this coming May 1st !), I don't even know when the switch is. Has I already happened for Spring?

Also, I always had to explain to my clients outside of AZ (which most of my clients were) that we don't do DST, so my time zone shifts between Pacific and Mountain depending on which cycle of DST we were in. I came up with a fairly easy way to explain it:
We are on Pacific in the Summer- so think Summer=Beach=California=Pacific Time
We are on Mountain in the Winter- so think Winter=Skiing=Colorado=Mountain Time
I figure that was the easiest way to explain it.

I really hate it alot. It's annoying as hell.
Because I have to change my alarm clock twice.
It doesn't automatically change when savings
time hits but it changes when it used to switch
over. Which makes it so hard to deal with because
I have to keep constantly a strict watch over
the thing so I can get up early enough to get my
son off to school in the morning. And I don't know
when the time will end up jumping up a hour. I
don't want to freak out thinking he might end up
late one day because of it.

I live in Australia. I actually hate daylight savings. It's pretty damn hot and they want MORE sun. Then again there's a lot of sun anyway and it doesn't make much of a difference.

I did live in Queensland that doesn't have it at all. it's a killer there though. Though I hate how the adjoining states do have daylights savings and knew a few people who had to cross the border for work and school and it screwed them over.

Pinkie lives in a small city at the bottem of Saskatchewan Canada and we dont do day lights saving time. I mean I really dont see the point in it. The earth travels around the sun the same amount all the time. The only reason for the saving time is because we actually have...365.--- Whatever days so the .-- days is what they believe they are correcting by the saving times. Though in truth its wrather useless. Just because you dont have saving time or you do have dosent make the sun any different in any way...

Meh to me its wrather pointless thats all. I mean why should I move my clock ahead an hour or behind and hour? In turn it just messes with your shit. I mean I know so many people that complain to me because of savings time that they forgot about it and there for was late an hour to work...that could mess people up something bad. ☪ஐﻬ☽ It does mess people up. My clock sets itself ahead a hour
and behind a hour because it is set to what the original
saving time was before it was changed in the states I guess
and I have to change it twice a savings time and that is
hard to remember. And I can't afford to let my son miss
school because I can't get him into school since I can't
drive anywhere and we don't have much money to get a taxi
for him ~_~ I really wished every place in the states
stopped doing it... It really is one of the stupidest
things I have ever heard of.

Oh yes you got that right...Thats why im glad that I live in a place that dosent do it. I mean like one of my good friends who just got out of jail has cerfue. His phone that he has is through a company in a place that dose savings time and he didnt realize that and got into trouble because he was an hour over his cerfue

Yep he was suppose to be at home by midnight and when he got home is parole officer was there and was all like "You do realize its ten minutes to one am right?" and he argued with his officer for a long time till he showed his phone. He was lucky his officer was a good guy and only gave him a warning lol. I remember him calling me after his officer left and was all like "GET OVER HERE AND CHANGE THE DAMN TIME ON MY FREAKING PHONE!" lol he lives two doors down =laughs=

Yeah me to but he nearly had a heart attack. The only reason why he even went to jail was he took the rap for a friend. The guy did something not so good (sold drugs) and my buddy was house watching for him when it got raded by cops. My buddy and this guy were child hood friends and the guy just had a kid so he took the rap for him. 2 years jail time...=shrugs= the worlds messed up lol
