Nice! I wrote a term paper on Tim Burton (auteur thoery for my pop culture lit class). I was happy to see that my conclusions about his film style held up when Sweeny Todd came out. :). I wrote my paper on Edward Scissor-Hands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Sleepy Hollow, with reference to Nightmare Before Christmas.

Ooh, nice! We had to pick a film by one of the directors on a list our professor gave us, and for me it was a toss-up between Tim Burton and Quinton Tarentino. I flipped a quarter and picked Tim from the outcome.

Ah! Yeah, we had a selection of topics relating to the course materials (paper on Buffy!). The auteur theory papers could be either on Tim Burton or Wes Anderson. He's got an interesting aesthetic too. Seems to like his curtains and plays.
