I know that feeling which is why I can be a right asshole upon first meetings. Not intentionally, mind you. But I have had more than one friend let me down in the past so it takes quite a while for me to warm up and offer affection/attention to new people, much less take it past just being friends with any guy.

I am going into it not for the money, but cause it's an interesting subject. and I have always had a slight interest in Science. As long as I make enough to survive and raise a family, I will be happy. I more rather have a job I am happy with than be rich and greedy.

And Galla, why do you blame yourself for relationships gone South? It takes two people to kill a relationship.

I was pointing out the money because normally Forensic Sciencist end up working with the police and it pays almost minimum wage. It takes working two jobs that way to raise a family as a single parent.

It's... complicated, I suppose. At one point, he was depressed and pulled away enough to make me want to find another friend to fill the gap. The friend that I found turned out to be the abusive sort. I should have walked away and ended things far sooner than I did. Instead, I neglected him and started getting more emotional around him. It's difficult not to blame myself to some degree, knowing that I tend to have better perspective and self-awareness than most that I know.

Most likely. Through I don't plan to start my family till around 30, save up some money so I will be prepared.

I suppose to be moving with my friend in SC to get my training but she moved someone else into what was suppose to be my room, {her old ex and his about to be wife} and stopped talking to me. Through, I had mentioned that I might be going to Florida with a friend from Scotland. So I am waiting to see how long this situation my friend has right now, since she has always had an off/on relationship with her ex (who cheated on her) and I don't know if I would want to move down there now anyway. If I had been accepted to one of the colleges there, I would of been literally screwed since I would of been using her address as my address.

Human nature, unfortunately, we never want to leave those with whom we have created a form of attachment. We can be blamed, but only to a certian extent, the other person is of equal or greater blame.

Sounds like you have a much more exciting life then I do. I had to take online classes due to a not quite similar situation.

That is true.

I found it hard to walk away from a close friend who wanted to come serious but I had to look at the situation from my point of view. He had suffered a stroke and it had left him with a really bad shake. Plus, he wanted me to change religions, after I had hammered it down a hundred times, I wasn't into his religion. In the end, I knew it would of been truly been unfair to the both of us, I wanted to go to college and get a career and as far I knew, he would never be able to get another job. My mom and dad had set down to discuss this with me, cause at the time, he was seriously wanting to marry me (this was after the stroke) and had said if I took it farther, I would have to willing to take care of him, etc. And this was when I was nineteen years old.
He ended up marrying a friend of mine but maybe in the future, if something happens and I am still single, I might consider taking the next step with him.

I have the option of doing internet classes and I had been really looking forward to moving to SC. I had almost won the battle of getting my mom won over the idea -she wasn't too thrilled with the idea but I was going down there with or without her blessings- but I figure if things don't work out here, my mom's best friend lives in Florida so I can always ask my mom if I can find a college down there, about going to staying with her and help with the stables. I would only be two states from my friend and I could travel up to visit.
