Soon I will have a new job. I will be able to put in my two weeks notice with the call center I currently work at, and become an Insurance Sales woman. I will be working off of commissions so I know it will be hard work. At least I will feel like I'm doing something though. This feels like I'm actually starting a career rather than just getting another job.

In a call center, especially with the changes that were made to mine recently, it really doesn't feel like there is anywhere to go. I also feel like hard work is punished more then it is rewarded. I feel like the people that don't really care and only half ass their job get more benefits from it then I do. Of course, that will change a bit when I put in my two weeks notice. I will half ass it after that. I just have to wait until I get my temporary insurance sales person licence before I can put in my two weeks. That should happen next Friday.

This is a really good opportunity for me. The insurance company I'm going to be working for focuses on the elderly and does what they can to give them several options that will help them. They offer insurance for long term care, which is not something a lot of places do. Also, everything I've seen or heard about them through research has been good. They have an A+ rating with the BBB (better business bureau)), and no complaints. They also only have 6 complaints with the federal insurance bureau people. That is REALLY good for such a large company.

It will cost a bit of money upfront to pay licencing fees and the like, but the company will reimburse me for them. I have sales goals I need to meet in a six month period. I plan to have those goals met in the first 90 days, though.

So, lets talk about awesome job opportunities, or just the sort of career you are hoping to become a part of. Or even the job you are currently at, whether you like it or not.

No awesome job opportunities for me, I'm still in the process of finding out what I might want to do and trying to pick up marketable skills that might get me out of retail. I could do office admin, but I don't much like answering phones.
