Avatars are the images of us... you can create one in the avatar thread. And the rations are part of the event currently going on. Collect as many as you can, and some time soon(maybe) the next part will start and you can hopefully spend the rations and water you have collected...

Random question, why is there no generic free hair?

Well users start off with 250 Aurum to get a cheap hair.. so in a way you 'can' get free hair or save up for a more expensive hair that you want. :3
