Ducky, I like the new outfit.
How are you this fine morning? Or... Hm, perhaps afternoon then? I'm sorry, I only have a vague awareness of your timezone. It's afternoon, isn't it? ![]() ![]()

Well, though your current outfits may be similar, I for one appreciate some of the smaller differences. This one happens to both have nice color balance, and an overall feel that I enjoy... The relative simplicity is a plus, too. No matter how well balanced color-wise an avatar may be, it just doesn't hold the same charm for me if there's too many items.
Today's fine so far. Quite the relief when compared to yesterday. I haven't gotten enough sleep, however, so I may either go back to bed shortly, or have a nap later. Either way... Today, I need to consider the next items I'm purchasing! ![]() ![]()

I've never been one for over complicated and cluttered avatars. I like to keep things simple, usually only two colours being matched and try keep the figure of the base present.
And i guess the stitches could suggest I've been a test subject in the Lab.. I still don't think I've had enough sleep either. I had almost 10 hours last night, but that's more than I've had in the 3 days before put together. So i don't think I'm up to speed on sleep quite yet. do you have a list of items you're after, or just an avatar/item preference you want to follow?

I'm not worried about strictly matching so much as keeping to things that I think my character would be comfortable wearing. So, I suppose I'm going for a slightly realer feel, granted the over-sized blood dripping syringe...
I need to get a good jacket or coat, and I'd like a few more vests and shirts to play with. Some dressier pants as well. I want to shift over to using the more traditional white to fit better with the doctor theme as well, at least as an option. I'm considering my current outfit to be one of his 'casual' ones. -grins- I will say, though, if the stitches are from any of my work, I'm sure it was worth it. I hardly leave scars like that so obviously on the face, and even more rarely when it comes to friends. It sounds like you've earned quite the sleep debt. If you can manage a couple more long nights like that, though, I'm sure you'll catch up. At the very least, it's good that you won't die from lack of sleep... Granted anything overly clumsy or stupid you do in such a state is another matter entirely. ![]() ![]()

I like to go for comfortable, and not really matching, in real life, so avatar sites provide a medium for me to do things differently, with lots of matching and fancy items. I can understand your way of doing it though, since you seem to be more into the whole RP/character behind your avatar side of things. For me an avatar is just a way to express me.
There a a few shop items that should match those desires, if I remember correctly. Maybe not so much in the jacket area. I do like a good scar, so maybe it was a request of mine? Not sure I'd request full body scars, but who knows. I could have been under some sort of medical drug at the time. I've all ready been reasonably active today, and will be going out to the pub in a couple of hours. Not to drink, as i generally don't, just to socialise and play a little Magic. Hopefully all that will add up and make me get to sleep early tonight. So if I go and fall down some stairs and die, could it be classed as dying from lack of sleep?

-snorts- Maybe just a little more into it... I'm a complete addict. Honestly, even casually talking like this is more in character than 'me' in style, even if the content itself isn't in character. But, it's more enjoyable for me this way, so I'm not bothered by it. It doesn't take any effort, and I'm not bothered by any of those nonsense ideas about not knowing the 'real' me or anything like that. So, it's all good.
I know, I'm going to have to get a bit creative as far as jackets go. Hopefully something will be released soon, but until then, a good dose of mixing and matching will be in order. Good scars, huh? Well, so long as it's done in a way to remain functional and not binding, I don't see anything wrong with that. Though if it is my work, drugs may have played a part in it. I'm not so cruel as to make my patients go without. Ah, I hope you have fun out and about tonight then. Sounds like a good time with me. I haven't really got anyone to see, or any interesting places to go in comfortable walking distance from here. Just the library and the park. Even if you were getting no sleep at all, that would still be death from an accident, not lack of sleep. It would just be recognized that the lack of sleep probably brought on the accident. Rather like if your tire should blow, and you drove into a pole, the tire wouldn't be what made you die, but... ![]() ![]()

I have never really got the appeal of RPing. I have to hide the real me in the real world quite a bit, or I use to have to where I lived before moving to Edinburgh, and the internet is where I am able to be fully me. using the internet to be someone else would be sort of counter productive. Not saying I have anything against RPing, It's just not for me.
I have no idea if there are any good jacket-like items in the non-shop items list. But I'm sure there must be. There's such a big variety of items on here. I think a well placed scar can have the same effect and appeal as something like a tattoo or a piercing. In a way I think they're even better, as a scar is entirely you. nothing added for the effect. I have to get a bus to get there, as the pub we use is over an hours walk from here. It's actually sort of an old persons pub, so it's nice and quit and we can play our games in peace. As far as friends go, i don't exactly have any. The people I go to the pub with are all my sisters friends, and i wouldn't talk to or socialise with them outside of the pub. I really need to find a job and finally start making my own friends here. well, i would still consider the tyre the reason for the crash. The pole wasn't at fault for being in the way. Yes, the pole killed me, but it was the tyres fault. Well.. actually the pole damaged my car and the blunt force trauma and various other car crash related injuries killed me... The pole is free of any fault xD

I can understand that, no question. It really is not for everyone, and especially not at the levels that I take it to. Honestly, even among my roleplaying friends, the ones that can remain on my level with this nonsense are few and far between.
Still, roleplaying is good for me in more than just the traditional escape from reality. It helps me keep my language expression skills up (I've got a bit of a disorder as far as that goes. Part of why I can be slow to reply to things. My skill with written language is leagues better than my verbal abilities, but I still struggle with finding even the right simple words quite often. IRL, I also have difficulties with my... uh... articulation.). Beyond this, finding patterns in the characters that I create helps me to know myself more, which is very important for me at the current stage I'm at in my life. Plus, it's hella fun. I already have a rough idea of the items I'll be shooting for. I'm going to save up another 8k or so first though and buy off the Puppet Masters that I want while they're still available. I would rather have scars than tattoos or piercings myself. Scars can be a really wonderful thing to have. Personally, I have a lot more than I would like, but I still have a few that I'm rather happy with, the one on my wrist among them. The library and park are both about forty-five minutes away from my home, in opposite directions. The grocery store is even farther. I can't even think of any bars or pubs nearby whatsoever. The only people that live near me are older folks, creeps, or, pardon the language, complete assholes. All of my 'friends' either moved away, or... well, are just gone. Aha. Yeah, it can be a bit of a gray area, depending on the circumstances. Still, the lack of sleep, or a blown tire, won't really be killing you in and of themselves. There have to be other factors involved, and if you're just at home screwing around on the computer... Well, I'd say that the risk is drastically decreased. Holy hell, these posts just keep growing! ![]() ![]()

Aha, alright. Take care for now, Ducky. I look forward to continuing with this lovely conversation... It's a welcome change from the norm around here.
-yawns- But, for now, I need a bit more rest anyway. ![]() ![]()
