go for it, Kaderin!

also question about loom knitting - if i have a thick yarn, but a loom with small pegs, could i make an drapier fabric if i skip pegs? (does that make sense?)

Skipping pegs might make for a lacier fabric. Another technique would be to wrap two pegs as if they're one. I haven't actually tested either of those yet, so I would recommend doing a small swatch to see how it looks first.

...just realized I started Derpy's sweater on the loom I needed to finish my monkey. Whoops! Better start working fast on it.
XD

Good luck, Trystan! What are you going to be making?

Those sound like some pretty good ideas. Just curious, what loom do you have that you're thinking of using for it?

i have two: i have an infinity loom (it has a peg missing, so i got it for like 75% off); or i have a kit, that i call a "modular loom" - it's got lots of parts to make whatever size loom. the pic is all of the 'modules' that come with it.

the pegs look like they're about the same size on both but the spacing looks a little more .... spacier on the infinity loom

Yeah, I have the same pieces kit, but the other one is, I think, larger gauge than the infinity looms I have. I would say, unless you want it super light and lacy, even a normal bulky weight yarn could be pretty lacy/drapy using that infinity loom, depending on what stitch you use. It's hard to say for certain without knowing the exact gauge of the loom, of course.

yeah, that makes sense. i'd probably use the e-wrap stitch - it's not as tight as the knit stitches

Another stitch I would suggest is maybe figure 8 stitch. It makes for a nice almost mock-crochet lacy look.

This one is worsted weight with a 1/2" gauge loom. Bulky with a 3/4" would produce a slightly thicker, but very similar look.

At first, I wasn't sure I liked it, but it's such a fast and easy stitch once you get going and it actually looks nice for lighter blankets and other projects.

i used it for two or so rows in my scarf, to see what it did and looked like. i need to figure out what to make, and what yarn to even use, so there is that bit as well.

Tattooed & foul-mouthed
I'm making a spider. Mostly so I can get a feel for the pattern, before I make one that I'm turning into a drider dolly.

I use She/Her and They/Them pronouns.

Hey...that's not an ape!
Lol. Looks good so far though!

Derpy's sweater (the main part at least) is half done! Gotta do the back parts now.
Also, I realized my bind off might make it too snug around the bottom edge, so it might have kind of laced up sides instead of sewing them up. So it might be more of a tunic almost.
XD

Give Derpy roman sandals and some laurels, then it'll look deliberate ^^

Also Den, Drider dolly sounds awesome.
