Ginger is used a lot in Asian cultures for medicinal use, cooking use and tea....use. :/

Weird as in, kinda like me being weird,
being of Mexican descent and I cannot stand guacamole or tamales. <x}

I love ginger and for a while was using a lot of it. Was also wondering why I had so many gallbladder attacks at the time. Apparently ginger can cause that if you have already gallbladder issues.

But, but...guacamole is so good.

I fucking love sashimi.

But yeah, occasionally Mom will say “It’s been a while since we had steamed fish with soy sauce and ginger, because SOMEONE doesn’t like it”.

Me: ...Okay look, it’s soggy and sauce-y and then there’s GINGER.

i understand the concept of ginger being prolific in asian communities. that doesn't really have anything to do with my question XD i was asking why it was weird for a person to not like a spice. it's common as heck for people to not enjoy everything they put in their mouths

Oh, I didn't mean that the whole disliking ginger thing is weird; I meant that it's weird trying to navigate through Asian cuisines when you don't like ginger.
