i didn't sleep well last night... hubby's working through some things and it keeps him up at night - he says he needs mindless things going on (like the tv playing) to 'turn off' his mind which is going a zillion miles a minute. one of the things is that he's worried about our financial state (which sucks, btw), and that keeps him up and his mind going. so some nights he'll start out in bed, but end up on the couch.

last night, something didn't really go his way (he didn't actually say anything that he wanted something (which was he wanted me and younger daughter to join him in a game) but rather sat on the floor, playing on his phone, with the game next to him. and after a while, just got up, went into the office and closed the door.) and then he watched tv on the one tv, then moved into the room where i was on the computer and crocheting, turned on his show on netflix and was asleep shortly thereafter. at one point when i was ready for bed, i asked if he wanted to join me, and he mumbled something about he needs the tv for his zillion-mile-a-minute mind. but after i'd gone into the bedroom at 1 something, and couldn't get to sleep until 4ish, he'd turned off the lights (and even turned the tv back on when one of the times i'd gotten out of bed i turned it off.) and the only thing he even said last night was when i'd popped into our office a bit after he'd gone in there to ask if everything was good, and he said it was.

i emailed him this morning at work, because he sounded really grumpy this morning - i wake up when he comes in the bedroom after his shower, and say 'love you' and his reply this morning was kinda grumpy. i don't really expect an answer, but i've been married to the guy for almost 22 years, and i'd like to think we're still best friends...

Maybe you can get him to talk to you and try to help him sort out his problems or come up with some sort of plan for the things that are worrying him? You could also try and just engage him and get him to do stuffs with you?

I personally see the biggest problem being lack of communication. often times people will get set in their ways and just expect you to understand this is what they are doing, when there is no verbal communication as such. But also having to have dealt with sensitive guys before who get worse when you bring stuff like that up, I always play the I've been wrong with how I acted and I just feel like if you helped me by remembering then we can both work on it type of thing. Then, you aren't laying blame on them or calling out their faults, but seeming to want to better the whole.

i do a bit more apologizing than i should, and sometimes it works. we had a big talk about a month ago, which is when he first told me about the financial sitution. this one, i think, is a personal one - he'd made a friend at the go-karting place where him and younger daughter would go, but teenager things happened with younger daughter (14) and go-karting friend (15), and now hubby doesn't get to go go-karting as he did before. he's finally found a place where he can be himself, and now he can't really. it's a loss for him and i don't think he's dealing with it all that well. but i hope to talk to him tonight. =)

I guess I am pretty lucky XD my guy and i spend 24/7 together basically and he's pretty chill with talking about whatever is on his mind, but he is a little feminine so maybe that helps XD

Maybe he can work it out so he can go go-karting again!
Or you could start saving up for a different toy for him. If you were in Oregon I'd send Brady go-karting with him.

I pass by a go-karting place everyday I work for pizza...... I keep thinking about maybe taking serg there but on what day off XD
Me and serg have had a total of 5 days apart in our 6 years of being together(as of august, I'm rounding up) so I'm on the same page as glitch.except for the fact that my husband is very simple minded/one-track/illiterate(junior in high school at 25?)
While I am extremely complex/thousand thoughts a minute/Years of reading and education(first big book was a encyclopedia I read at 7)
So we have problems coming up with appropriate topics to discuss with each other that aren't shared interest.

Brady was a 4.0 student in high school but he's a looker and focused more on girls than school work so he hasn't gone to college or anything yet. Me, I'm average -- not that smart. I had a 2.5 GPA in college XD pretty bad. So I'll say something and then he has to really dig into subjects with me that are usually all over my head but it's ok.
