isn't that funny
Default maybe i am stupid but..   #1
so a girl and i started a vender both at a fleamarket and it is doing ok but i had to borrow fifteen dollars to get inventory(i mostly sell jewelry i make but i sell auction things too) the deal was i would put my mirror up as a firm bid(no haggling) and she would take the 15 from that when it sold since it is an eye-piece(to make catch the eye and make you want to look inside), she said fifty is a good sale and before i got online i said fifty sounds good, i do however, before the mirror goes up look up the value and my mirror, with the crack in the wing-glass is worth about 88 dollars because it is 'colored'(there is color tint to the brass) i want to do 70. the mirror is priced at 50 so when we get there i am unhappy, we talk and so i am talked into selling it for 60 instead since that is theoretically enough to keep the mirror up for a while, today she tries to give me 35 dollars for the mirror, i am confused and ask her why and say the count seems off, she says it did not sell she is buying from me and the 35 is the 50 minus the 15 i owe her. i am understandably upset and i refuse to take the money making her angry because i am 'renegging'(trying to break a set deal by renegotiating the price) to keep the mirror. i say i am not because that was not the agreement and that was not the price

long and short of it i decided to give her the mirror free of charge to end the fight and call my 180 dollar brass mirror fair trade for the 15 dollar loan but she is still mad at me and i feel terrible because i had a feeling something was going to happen when the damn price-tag showed up 20 dollars short, am i validated in feeling like i have been hoodwinked so this girl could get a good deal on something she will most certainly resell for close to the actual value of? i don't mind having lost my mirror to prevent much more worrisome issues in the future but i am very upset that she knew i was reluctant to sell and only had it up because it was beneficial to the booth. i am also going to tell her i dont want to vend with her anymore because i cannot trust her

We're all mad here.
Turning on my objective brain, I'd say she was being cheap. It's your mirror to sell, therefore you set the price. If she wants to buy it she can, at the price you are selling. If you said that you'd give her the $15 from the sale of the mirror then it makes sense to knock that $15 off the price for selling to her, but if setting the price of the mirror was never part of the deal in the first place, then she doesn't get to gripe about it. That's my view but I'm a pick with money.

(Nitpick: "to renege" means to back out of a deal; it has nothing to do with renegotiation.)

You're best not trying to collaborate with this person anymore. You've already established that you can't trust her; you shouldn't be going into business. Trust your instincts on this one -- she's not good for your business.

No need to apologize, just taking the opportunity to educate. :)

Is Legen...Wait for it...Dary
seems odd but yes i have to agree with quiet. if she wanted the mirror she should have done the price you were gonna sell it for - the 15 u owed her. so yes i does seem like she jipped you on that deal and telling her that you dont want to vend with her sounds like a smart idea because who knows she might do it again with something else...

I have to say I agree with Quiet and hyjin and you should be careful of this person in the future. She did not see your side at all and that is very poor empathy on her part. Says something about her and how she will behave in the future.
I used to have a sig. Really.
