This is the thread where it's about...HOME REMEDIES, you know the natural medicine that you have around the house.

The reason why I'm making a thread like this is that if one of our Trisphites have such as a toothache, stomach flu, acne, etc. and don't or cant take on the meds that the drug industry made (and actually good for you) they can go here as a guide for advice on what to use and how to treat a certain issue using things around your house.

I had a really bad toothache for a couple of weeks where anything cold gave me this shot of pain then it would throb really badly for a long time. I was afraid of loosing my tooth or go through oral surgery.

I used this generic Orajel brand which numbs the nerves, it worked when it numbed then the pain would come back. Then when I heard/saw online that putting a few drops amount of VANILLA EXTRACT on your painful tooth and wait it out for a few minutes then it would disappear so I used Vanilla Extract on that tooth and gums with the Orajel (since the pain was more powerful), then I went to bed then when I woke up the pain decreased then within one hour it was gone.

Do You have any home remedies that you would like to share. You can share as often as you want.

DISCLAIMER: test them at your own risk, some of these haven't been attempted; they are just the suggestions we post so if you get harmed in any of these remedies, it's your own fault to rely on that method, they are many MANY methods out there on a certain problem, if one doesn't seem right to you then don't risk yourself to do it

I have made them into sections so it would be easier for people who need relief from the biological situation. When there is a new remedy in this thread I will post them up in here.

TOOTHACHE/TOOTH PAINS/GUM
>3-4 Drops of Vanilla Extract on the area
>Place one drop of clove essential oil on a cotton swab, dip the cotton ball in water and rub on aching tooth and gum area.

STREP THROAT/SORE THROAT
>Frest Garlic clove in half, stick it between your cheek and gum and suck on it for an hour.
>get a CLEAN rag, wet with hot water, place over mouth and inhale. repeat as needed. DO NOT fold or bunch rag.

CUTS
>(For fresh ones and/or mild infection) Partially brewed Black tea and place it on the infected area, then wash it afterwards
>Castor oil
>Honey on the infected area
>(Large cuts that looks in need of stitches;NOT OVER THE COUNTER, o.t.c. cause more harm than heal) Super Glue

MOUTH SORES/ULCERS/TEETHING/Cold Sores
>Make an infusion of thyme, sage, or marigold flowers, add a fouth cup of cider vinger. use as mouthwash three times a day
>Gargling salt water

SINUS TROUBLES
>Make black tea without the milk, then add honey, lemon, ginger (ground or fresh) and some tea-tree. Mix and inhale the vapors.

BURNS (minor 1st degrees)
>Aloe vera on the burned area
>Mix a little baking soda with water to make a think paste and apply to burn. DO NOT apply to broken skin.

Feminine Problems
> Raspberry leaf tea helps with period cramps, drink it every day a week before you are supposed to get your period.
>Dill seeds made into a tea is supposed to help with that as well this one.
>Ginger tea (also works with mouring sickness) and peppermint tea.

Lessee, my favourite home remedies include:

If you think you might be getting strep-throat, or just have a very, very sore throat, cut a fresh garlic clove in half and stick the two pieces between your teeth and cheek and suck on them for an hour. I've done this three separate times and it's worked every time.

If you can't use/don't have neosporin and you feel a cut or gash might be getting infected use a partially brewed black-tea bag and place it on the area. Wash afterwards and it will help with a mild infection.

for any type of mouth sores, ulcers and teething; gargling warm salt water is amazing :D

also for Golden staff or really bad infected wounds use castor oil, its so thick it wont let any oxygen in to feed the bacteria. my dad used it when he had golden staff on his heel and it worked wonders :D

@Fey what if youre really badly allergic to garlic, like me? i tihk i might make my throat swelling worse >.>

Um a home remedy I guess you could call it is, if you have access to an Aloe Vera plant, to cut a tiny piece of aloe vera off when you get a burn or sunburn and rub the goo from the inside onto the burned area. Works wonders!

@ Ashy: There are hundreds are remedies so what works for her may not work for you.

@ Demo: When I was Little we used to have an aloevera plant and we would use it on burns, and infected wounds

if you're allergic to garlic...uhm...yeah I got nothing...except a stake for your vampireness ;) j/k

Also, for fresh wounds you can use Honey, it's antimicrobial and prevents infection nicely. Just the real stuff, not the flavoured corn syrup they call honey in some places....

Uhm, for cuts needing stitches(that aren't too big) you can super-glue them closed. It was originally created for that purpose so it's non-toxic and will sluff off your skin with time.

superglue is very bad for wounds though, you need to put up a disclaimer and let people know that some of these 'remidies' are either not tested or not good for them, i would hate to see trisphee get sued because some idiot put this up and another decided to try it out instead of either researching a real remady for their ills or talking to someone who actully /knows/ how to help, this is a dangerous thread

Super glue on wounds is a gray area when some say yea you can do it, or it's you can do it but don't use over the counter stuff (use the medical superglue) that you get from wally world.

Okay, to cover my own butt. The superglue thing? I've DONE this, and it works. I'm not saying do it on a large skin-missing-open wound. The point of superglue is to be threadless-stitches. It's designed(and originally created) to hold together wounds that would normally need stitches but either 1)couldn't be done due to location of the wound or 2)lack of proper medical facilities. It was created to be a in-war-fast-fix for injuries.

I promise, if you don't DRINK it or SMEAR it all over a scraped knee you should be fine.

Also, if you're not sure if something sounds safe, be it here or anywhere, JUST DON'T DO IT.
