moving, moving, moving! | #1
welp, i have been moving all week which is why i have not been around and it is /exhausting/ today is the very last day and other than the 'net cords and some trash it is pretty much done~ in a couple days i should be back to posting
so, now after all that, what about you guys? have any of you moved recently (country or city is fine but things like towns or villages or such you should not share for safety reasons)? what was it like? did it take a super long time like this? have you ever needed to use a storage place or just thrown things away? do you like moving to new places? let's talk~<3

I've only moved a few times in my life (I'm only 24), but the few times I have, it's seemed to take forever. When my family moved from Metro Atlanta to Northeast Georgia, it took us a few months to get most of our stuff from the house up to our new place, and in fact I do believe that we still have some stuff out in the building at our old house (my great-grandmother bought it from my grandparents). When I moved from Northeast Georgia to another part of Metro Atlanta, my husband put most of my stuff in the basement of our home. That was a little over a year ago and I still haven't unpacked and gone through everything. But we're sharing the house we're in with a roommate, and there's a lot of big furniture in the house, and there's not really room for my furniture... But I just can't bring myself to get rid of it. >.>

If we didn't have a roommate, I honestly believe that the house we're in now would have more than enough room for my stuff. I think the biggest part of it, though, is trying to find a spot for my computer desk and drawers that go under my bed frame. The miscellaneous things I've slowly been going through (most of it's clothes), and I've been getting rid of them. Right now, if my brother-in-law and his wife would get the last of their things out of the kitchen (that's where we stored their things when they finally moved out), I'd be able to put my computer desk in there, which would just leave my bed frame and the drawers that go under it, which we're working on getting the drawers upstairs for added storage. >.>

Wow Choco, you really do sound exhausted. That is because you moved yourself I guess. I hope you are in a better place now?
Kilala, I sympathize, I have stuff in my basement, ugh, I should go through it! I have moved a lot I suppose. A few different places in southern CA and a few in northern CA, then off to Massachusetts for college and then to Nashville for grad school and then to PA for more grad school and back to Nashville for 2 more years of grad school and finally to Maryland where I have moved twice. However, this last move we had a moving company pack us up, move us and unpack us too. It was tremendously expensive but we have an entire household now and I was not about to break my back moving furniture. So that is my moving experience. I used to have a sig. Really.
