White Cliffs of Dover | #1
He could hear the rumbling of the thunder in the distance, and a glance to the sky earned him a flash of lightning that tore the sky in two pieces as if it had been dropped and shattered like a piece of glass. In a moment the sky righted itself once more before the tremble of the resounding thunder tore him in two instead. Already the waves were growing strong and could be heard as well as seen as they crashed against the rocky cliffs that peaked out into the ocean, which only deflected the water as a white mist.
The multitude of sounds that echoed through the air and over the sea sent a rough shudder through him, and it nearly made him drop his plate into the sink or to the floor where it would have broken as the sky did, though it would not be mended. He made the decision that he would finish up the dishes before the storm got any worse lest he break any of the dishes or leave any soiled ones in the sink to be cleaned once the rain passed. He nearly jumped out of his skin as he felt the soft caress of his cat winding between his legs in a search for food or attention, and he could only assume both with the soft meow the older cat gave him. Looking out the windows once again to see the thousands of ripples that bounced off of the surface of the water as the rain began to fall, he decided to batten the window down with the old weathered shutters before closing the window and seeking refuge with the cat in the old cellar. And I can't change Even if I tried Even if I wanted to... ...I can't change Even if I try Even if I wanted to

this day is the day
he knew it was time, for a turtles life he had been waiting for the slow branch of his fins to split and the fine membrane over his eyes to thin so that the deepest plunges were no longer allowed and he was stuck in the shallows with the other adolescents all of whom like he were waiting to go into the next stage of life and mingle with the airbreathers before ascending to adulthood. he could feel the disturbance of the underworld as he descended into the light and noise of the surf below. it was time

He was hardly able to keep the cat with him before she spotted a mouse skittering across the floor and he was left to his own devices to wait out what he felt was going to be a long afternoon. From where he sat he was able to see the light of the midday sun that inevitably shone through the clouds to some degree, even in a storm such as that one. As it fluctuated while accommodating the rivulets of water that ran across the window’s panes, he could only figure the storm was still in full swing.
The sound could still be heard, even the shutter of thunder making its own impact in the small space, and the gentle pattering of rain could be heard overhead and it left him wondering whether or not the cellar was beneath the house or his garden. This, of course, led him to grow worrisome that he left a window open upstairs, and leaving the cat to herself he climbed the stairs to worriedly check the windows. Checking had become worth the bother as he saw one of the windows open a smidgen while the shutters had become unhooked and batted around uselessly in the gusts of wind. in a hurry, he rushed over to close the shutters when his attention was no longer focused on the spray of water that threatened to enter his home, but the pale body that lounged in his garden while he seemed to be singing. “Sir,” The other seemed to absorbed in the sweet lyrics that fell from his lips, and he could admit he did not particularly wish for the other to cease his singing either. However, more pressing matters were at hand. “Excuse me!” He howled out that is rang above the sound of the wind and song, “it is storming, you should not be outside!” And I can't change Even if I tried Even if I wanted to... ...I can't change Even if I try Even if I wanted to

only a few high bars were wove into the music of the water that beat hard across his bare shoulders before he found his human and still singing he turned towards it to catch it in his song

He could feel a chilling shiver down his spine as the other turned to face him, and he was unsure if it was the chilling look of the nearly white eyes, or the high pitched notes that the other sung to him. Neither he wanted to believe, and instead of letting his mind fall susceptible to such things that hardly seemed real, he credited it to the mist that now had his clothes were now heavy with the rain that blew through his window and the ocean's gust made him freezing cold.
"You're an idiot, you know that?" He questioned to the other, but he hardly thought that the strange man was so much as listening to him. "If you're not going to make an effort to get out of dangerous weather you can go find someone else to pity you and shelter you from the storm." He found the other to be close enough that if he stretched out his arm he could touch, and while at first it was entirely against his best judgement to touch a naked man inside of his garden who was truly beginning to look like someone without their mind, he reached anyway. It was credited to the water that his skin was so slick, but being able to get a hand on the shoulder, he gave a little shake to keep the other from singing. the touch was a warmth like pain and comfort and he was pulled from his enchantment as much by the feel of it as by the arm that pulled him. as he was dragged from his place he stared up at his human and let the image imprint upon his mind

He easily could have done without the staring, but as the other seemed so oblivious to the fact that he was being rescued by a storm such as that he figured that it would not matter. What did matter, however, was the fact they were both dripping wet, the stranger more than himself, and for the sake of his floors, the boy worried.
Battening down the shutters and the windows he took a once over of the man, finding him completely bare--much to his chagrin--and so pale he would have assumed he'd never seen the sun, but took the step of holding out a hand to signal to the other to remain where he was. "Stay," He made eye contact in hope that the other could understand him, and when he was self satisfied that he thought he got his message across he left the strange man to scrounge up a few towels. it was so dry down below the water before but now it was as if the world had gone inverse and the strange sensation left his skin in tingles. he waited however for his human to return and did not balk or flee as it worsened the dry with it's cloth. he did his best to allow it and instead took the abuse as proof of the stories of his elders that spoke of times when they too walked and lived with their human hosts until they time came for them to return

The other had not spoken a single word, and thus far it was fine with him, but he was truly unsure if he should have invited the man into his home or not. Dropping the towel he used on the other to the floor, and using his foot he began sopping up the remnants of the storm while he could begin to feel the cling of his shirt to his soaked chest.
"What is your name, and why were you out in the storm like that?" Picking up the towel he found his floor to be dry enough, and he used what dry part he could find to dry himself as best he could. "This isn't just a misting, it's worse then that." And I can't change Even if I tried Even if I wanted to... ...I can't change Even if I try Even if I wanted to

he was not sure of a name just yet and so said nothing. it was not that he had not thought of one, he had many he liked and most were quite nice in his own feelings but none seemed right for what his human would fall for and without any certainty he had nothing. carefully however, in a manner he had practiced he rolled his shoulder and slid several of his finger through his locks and stared in his most alluring fashion at the human

The look reminded him of what some of the people in town gave him when he was running errands and the like, and so he was unsure how to feel when it was a complete stranger giving him the same look. He decided that it was not right, and he contemplated the man that stood in his living room. "Can you even speak, or are you only humoring me by listening to me ask all of these questions?"

it was a nice choice and one he had not contemplated. shrugging he said nothing, it was not that he could not speak but if he said nothing then it would be nearly the same thing until he was ready to come up with a name for the human

He was not kind in his staring at the man while he tried to gauge whether he understood or if he only knew how to shrug. With his eyes narrowed and eyebrows furrowed together he decided on the former before he gave a shrug of his own before he stalked off towards his bedroom to rid of the towels.
"You are too big to fit in any of my clothes, and I am being kind letting you stay here through the storm," He deposited the towels in a hamper before he tried to rummage through his drawer of undergarments to produce a pair of boxers that were much too big on him. "You can stay the night, or at least until the weather blows over, but tomorrow you can go into town and maybe find someone you know." Stepping free of the bedroom, he flung the shorts at the man, "I would ask you where you are from, but you do not speak." he was distracted from the words as fabric was flung at him and confused he watched it fall to the floor though when it had settled he merely stepped over it on his way to the human. if he only had a night to figure out how to bewitch then there was little time to waste standing

He watched with partial curiosity and distrust when the clothes were ignored and left on the floor, and as the man approached he was left taking a step back before the distance was closed and a forceful hand on his shirt brought their lips together in a crushing kiss.
Hands lifted to press against the smooth, bare chest in an act to push the stranger away, but the kiss felt so good and the lips tasted delicious with the way they tasted like the sea. For a moment he allowed himself to melt against the other, but when he realized who the other was and where they were he jerked back and shoved the stranger away. he was certain he was swaying the human until the creature stopped responding and attacked him. as he was pushed back he felt a pain and his new legs betrayed him. as he fell a surprised bark left him and he bounced against the ground. looking up he gave the human a plaintive look
