Default New Laptop Help   #1
So my current laptop is starting to not do so well after 3 years of slight abuse... (gaming and some other stuff) I bought a external to transfer the content of the hard drive greedy programs but its power isn't putting out too well anymore.
Current laptop:
320gb hd
4gb ram DDR2
Intel core 2 duo 2.00ghz
Originally vista but now runs 7
64bit
Standard intel graphics

New laptop:
(into Options)
Has decent gaming Video card (ATI or Nvidia)
500Gb Hd min
2.10ghz processor min

Spending limit $800.

Help me out with what you know.
Thanks

You should have no problem finding a suitable laptop with your desired specs in your desired price range. I would imagine you'll be spending $500-$600.

I would recommend away from Sony (overpriced), HP / Compaq (crappy software, flimsy hardware), and Dell (bad customer support). Acer and Toshiba are solid brands.

I was debating about Acer, Toshiba, and Asus.

I know how bad dell is i owned one before and things broke on it constantly and they were no help with fixing it. I have a Hp and its ok but not great for gaming or anything else i do...

I look around a bit today and found two that look nice.
Option 1
Option 2

One is a little under my price range and one is a little over.
There is a difference between the 2.

1 has a i5 (2.50) and the other has i7 (2.20), but the i5 one has a 3MB L3 Cache while the i7 has 6MB L3 Cache.

Let me know your input on these options. If you have your own suggestions feel free to post them here.

Edit:
I found one more for consideration.
Option 3

It looks very good for the price it is going for.

The i7 is better than the i5 for most uses, even if it is slightly slower according to the clock speed. It has more CPU cores, more cache, and better onboard graphics.

Option 3 definitely is the best there, and it IS pretty good bang-for-your-buck; if you can afford it, go for it. That laptop will last you AT LEAST three years unless you need to keep up with high-end gaming.
