Default Deaths in music   #1
So, Davey Jones, from the Monkees - died today. He passed away from a heart attack. We have also recently lost Whitney Houston.

Usually famous people die in threes.

Who's going next? What do you feel about this? What other musical deaths have effected you?

I can't believe he is gone. I am so gonna
miss him. I grew up with his music and the
show. Loved both of them.

Right now I'm in major shock over his death. ; ;
The only other person I ever was upset over
dying was Kurt Cobaine. *cries in corner*

He was just on the cover of People, Davey, not Kurt. My sister bought it for my mommy.
I've been in the hospital for a month!
Pneumonia. Complications and chest tubes.

Who knows, but it is a sad thing when things of this sort happen.

Ya I heard about that.
I am glad he isn't hurting anymore but he sounded
like he was such a great guy. And he was so young too.

this may seem harsh but personally celebrity deaths don't really have any effect on me. I never knew them, so i feel no more sadness than i would from hearing about a random death on the news. this is even more so when it comes to musical artists. I listen to the music of a band, but i never watch their music videos, reading about them or anything like that. I tend not to even know the names of most band members.

Am I a bad person? ._.

No you are not a bad person Ducky.
Everyone is different. If I like a band enough or a
singer I like to look them up and read a bit about them
to see what kind of person they are. And growing up with
some people's music and having it form my tastes of what
they are today. I get sad by a death like that. I hope
that makes sense.

I've been attacked before for my lack of caring towards celebrities and public figures. To the point where I feel my way of looking at things is not really a socially accepted attitude towards it all.

I can totally understand what you are talking about, and anyone else who is emotionally attached to such things.

Oh my I am so sorry to hear that Ducky *hugs* No one
should be mean to you just because you are different
from other people. Everyone is entitled to their own
opinions. No one should berate someone just because
one is different from another. I can understand your
way of thinking. I am not like with everyone. Just
certain bands and singers I am like that with.

there are a lot of opinions and ways of thinking that I, probably falsely, believe I am abnormal for having thanks to it all.

I'll admit that the death of the Avenged Sevenfold drummer did get to me, but not because he actually died. It was the music that they made in the wake of it. Emotions in music can really get to me.

Same here. Emotions in music is a great thing
to have. I cry and it feels like my heart drops when I
heart Curtosey Call by Sixx AM. That song was based on
the day Nikki Sixx was technically dead for like 15 mins.

Oh my he passed. When was this? I listen to their music..
Not as much as I should be though. Right now their music
would be great for me. I'm going through alot of RL stuff
and music like theirs helps me feel better.

the Rev passed in December 09 i believe, so a decent while ago now. Their latest album 'Nightmare' was completely re-written to be a tribute to him. Some of his drums are also included in it, although the passed before they went into proper recordings.

Well I am glad they did something like that for him.
I don't think I have that album. I should look into
getting it. Too bad he passed before recordings ;;
