RP Construction/ Mizzy + Airi Only! | #1 | |
(Humans know about the Fae and Werewolves as of the 5th book)
In the books theres only one "shape shifter" and they call her a 'walker' Mercy turns into a coyote. Magic doesn't always work right on here. Something to do with being a walker. Vampires went out of their way to kill any of her kind they could find before she was born and her father was in those that were killed. So she has never met any of her kind and she's not sure what she can do. She sees Ghosts, and can control them as well. For example, she needed some information in one of the books and she asked a ghost. The ghost didn't want to answer her but she willed the answer from them. She has increased senses of sight, hearing, smell, and increased speed. She's not the strongest but over all her character is well written in the stories. Then theres the werewolves, Werewolves are only made from violent accidents. Where the human body is weakened enough to let the wolfs 'spirit' in. If the wolf doesn't save them the humans die. Each pack is lead by an Alpha wolf. And in North America all the packs are lead by the Marrok. Dominant wolves lead, and only males have rights. Females take there place in the pack from their mates. Dominant wolves have the need to protect the submissive wolves and the people/things they care about. The change for them is painful and time consuming. They have increased senses sight, hearing, smell. They are super strong and super fast. Weak against silver. And they can't swim. Most live a long life. They age super slowly... like the marrok in the books still looks like a teenager, and he's from before the dark ages Fae; Fairies etc. Like all the old children's stories but they are real. They hide their true appearances with a thing called "glamor" so they can walk in the human world. They are ruled by a group of powerful Fae called "The Gray Lords" We haven't really been informed of any of them. There has been some references but I'm not up on my fae so I'm not sure who they are. Most Fae seem to be weak Most are weak against Iron and other metals. They are not the nice and helpless things they try to make the humans believe. But since the catholic crusades with the iron and such they powers have weakened and they lost most their links to "Underhill" A magic place where their power were increased and they were the rulers. **There is also this thing call an omega but I'm not sure how to explain it... Vampires: Live in Seethe with their masters until they are able and powerful enough to live on their own. They keep human "sheep" in their place of residents. Most are as evil as they always say, but in the books there is one "good" vampire. Though you can't deny what he is, he is better then the rest. Some of them have powers (which seems off but its not all of them) Like teleportation or "you are what you eat" the vampire who had that took the powers of what he feed off of. So he had a tree fae in his keeping and he could walk about during the day, but never trusted it enough to step into sunlight. weakness sunlight, holywater (though you would need a pool of it to kill them), fire, disembodiment. Stake to the heart will stop them momentarily but not kill. Faith (crosses etc.) will not kill but may burn them Black Witches/White Witches (we haven't seen many of them so I don't know much) Black witches feed their power with death and blood. they are more powerful and normally very evil White witches are the better of the two and tend to use their powers to heal. They don't feed their powers with death and blood so they tend to be fairly harmless. ---------- I'm sure I'm missing a lot of info on them so... if you have questions ask? If I think of anything else I'll let you know For more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_..._Series -- Airi and I will be working some things out in here and then making an rp out of it! In my series the main character Daine has wild magic.
In this world there is many different variations of the Gift, which is magic. There are people who have healing magic and people who have war magic, and very few that have both. Daine's mother had slight healing magic and was constantly disappointed in her for not having the gift like her. Daine was raised by her mother and granda until bandits killed them. Daine never knew who her father was and never thought that she had magic, just a simple knack with animals. She refused to believe that she had magic. On her journey through the lands she learns more about her own magic where with she can communicate telepathically with animals and control what they do, as well as heal the animals and eventually even transform into animals using this wild magic. Wild magic - magic that flows through every living creature and thing, each animal has a different essence and Daine can see it, others have wild magic flowing through part of them but none as abundantly as Daine. Some have the gift with dogs, or horses, or dolphins, but Daine is the only one that has an all encompassing gift. However the wild magic does come at a slight cost. It drains a little bit of energy with everything that she does. When she is too tired to concentrate going into a cold area or water, especially salt water enhances her abilities. Before Daine came around wild magic was simply a thing of myths and legends. No one knew what it was and no one could prove that it was still around until she came around. Wild magic also gives the ability to sense immortals. Unlike the Gift, wild magic does not rely on spells it is simply based upon thoughts. Hence the wild part of the magic. It cannot be fully controlled. Gift - the Gift can be used for healing or warfare. Healers can use spells to heal broken bones and sicknesses and to purify water. The healers can only heal so much due to training and endurance. If the healer tries to overreach their own abilities they will pass out and possibly even drain their life force into the spell. Warfare magic can include many different tactics. Some include string magic - using string to control rocks and other objects via formation of knots of the string, fire magic - starting with the simplest of lighting a candle or fire to throwing fireballs at oncoming enemies, water magic - this is not the creation of water but the manipulation of it, wind magic - from the simplest of blowing out a candle to creating a tornado, earth magic - manipulation of rocks and the earth to making things grow, dark magic - this is very rarely talked upon for nothing good ever comes from it this includes raising people from the dead or giving life to metal machines using children's spirits. There are different classes of mages. The highest class can also use words of command. These phrases can completely manipulate matter but come at a cost. Whatever is done has the opposite effect somewhere. In the books someone is turned into an apple tree, so somewhere an apple tree was turned into a man. Immortals: Immortals were all created from someone's dream. The immortals were brought back to the human realms by mages who were trying to take over the land by first weakening armies with the immortals and then striking with the help of the immortals. IE: Stormwings were created by someone who dreamed of a creature so vile that people would think twice before starting fighting. Basilisks - lizard like creature that is a traveler. Magic - can screech and turn anything into rock. Is a rock eater, stands on its hind legs and walks around, generally a good immortal. Centaurs - self explanatory, half human half horse, some are good, some are bad. Coldfangs - Cousin to the basilisk, a lizard like creature that is a thief tracker and guardian. With its thick skin and rattle on its tail the coldfang will guard an object till the end of time and if it is stolen will track the thief and kill it. Dragons - intelligent creatures that are very similar to most mythical legends. They are magicians in their own regards putting human's Gift to shame. Griffins - the half bird half cat creature are very prided creatures. No lies can be spoken around a full grown griffin. Also the feathers of a griffin can be placed over ones eyes to protect from illusions cast by the Gift. Arrows fletched from griffin wings will always hit their target. Hurroks - Flying horses with claws instead of hooves and the eyes and teeth of a predator. These creatures are generally bad. Kraken - This octopus-like creature is very similar to the Krakens in other mythologies, a ship wrecker and terror of the sea. Merfolk - Mermaids. Ogres - Gentle beings who like to farm, generally very tall with aqua blue skin. Spidrens - Giant furry creatures with the body of spiders and the head of a human with metal teeth. Spidren's webs glow in the dark and burn human skin on contact. Generally bad. Stormwings - Creatures that resemble large birds (the size of humans or larger), but with metal wings and claws and teeth, but with the torso and head of a human. They feed off of fear and play in human remains on battle fields. They are filthy creatures. Tauroses - Head, hooves, and tail of a bull, with the rest of the body being human. These dim witted immortals' sole purpose is to rape women. There are no female Tauroses. Undines - Sprites. There are water undines and forest undines. There is not much information on the undines. They are very shy creatures. Unicorns - The horse-like immortals with a horn on its head, there are two categories of unicorns; the harmless and the flesh eating. The saliva from the flesh eating unicorns is a deadly and nearly untraceable poison. Humans can also contract unicorn fever, although the cause of it is not known. Winged Apes - Apes that have wings on their backs. They are generally bad immortals. Winged Horses, Kudrung - similar to the Hurroks but bat like wings rather than hawk like wings. The kudrung come in many different shapes. They are good immortals. Wyverns - Blind, legless dragon- like creatures that breathe a yellow fog that causes the eyes to water and a dry to persist. Only a dragon can command the wyverns to stop. Gods and Goddesses (I will only touch upon the major ones at this time, if I end up describing others in the story I will add them to this list) Mithros - Male ruler of the gods. God of sun, light and fire, also law, war, and magic. Appearance is a black man dressed in gold armor. Rules the gods with his sister and co-ruler the Great Mother Goddess. Great Mother Goddess - Female ruler of the gods. Normally referred to as the Goddess. She is over the patronage of women. She is also the goddess of crops, weaving, spinning, and the moon. Appearance is a stunning woman with white skin, long black hair and red lips. Kyprioth – The trickster god. He is blamed for transgenders around the realm, supposedly playing a trick on people by putting the mind of the opposite gender into their bodies when they are still in the womb. He is sorta the god of crows for they are tricksters as well. Appearance is a tall wiry framed man with salt and pepper hair and a mustache wearing a sarong like clothes, and lots of jewelry. Graveyard Hag – The daughter of the Black God. She is a major goddess in other lands second only to her father. She is known for liking to play games of chance and is known for cheating to make things the way that she wants them to be. Dice, hyenas, and rats are sacred to her. She can bring things back to life. She usually appears as an old lady with an eye patch leaning on a cane with a rat either around her feet or perched on her shoulder. Black God – God of death. He usually appears with a long hooded robe covering himself. He governs the Peaceful Real and brings spirits into it. His servants are ghosts, pigeons (who help bring the spirits to him) and also possible wind spinners. Gainel – The god of dreams. He is unable to leave the Divine Realms unless it is to bring a dream to a mortal. He also is unable to speak to mortals without the use of dreams. The appearance is not really spoken of. Uusoae – Queen of chaos. She is the sister to the gods and goddesses and is charged with keeping the uncertainty, imagination, destruction that leads to change and new growth, new opportunities. These are all to be kept in balance with the peace. So she is in constant battle with her siblings to overcome and let chaos reign. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That’s all that I can think of right now for descriptions that are needed. If I see the need to I will add to these descriptions or take away as needed. For more information you can read this wiki.
