So, I was on my bed try to send my video finals to a friend. I look over at the computer bag that was in my mom's room for the last month and I see a HUGE, thick, brown, scary as heck spider less than 6 inches away from me. So I quickly kicked my dog out of my room then preceded to chase the spider around the room and enact chemical warfare upon the it. It wouldn't die despite being attacked and nearly drown in spider/bug fogger. Least I didn't try to trap it under a jar and leave it in the sun this time.

Anyone have any "i'ma gonna kill you bug!!! D=<" stories? Hate a particular kind of bug or pest the most? Do anything strange to try to kill or get away from them? Discuss?

Bugs don't really bother me too much, but it bothers many people I know.

When I was working at a bookstore during college, I heard screaming on the other side of the store and learned that there was a bumblebee. I took a towel, trapped and snagged the bee, then let it go outside.

I walked back into the store and people wouldn't come within a five foot radius of me.

Someone actually freaking called SECURITY to come and kill it. *shakes head* Good thing I got to it beforehand.

Whoa some one went as far as calling security? That's kinda crazy. Though I'm half guilty of the screaming part. running to the other side of whatever room I'm in and possibly asking someone to kill it for me... or just watch it so I'm always far away from it.
Don't think I would have tried to catch it for fear of it stinging me or something...

After being stung by bees, wasps, hornets, etc. as a young kid (and found out I'm not allergic), I figured I'd survive getting stung another couple of times or so.

Plus, the reactions were priceless.

A couple weeks ago, I was sitting outside with a friend of mine. I was reading manga while she played on her PSP. I look up and see this HUGE dirt dobber flying towards us! I yelped and nearly fell off the bench. She yelps, nearly falls off the bench AND nearly drops her PSP. I've gone white as a sheet, and she starts laughing. I snap out of my terror trip and say "What?" She laughs a little harder and says "What the heck was THAT?! I've never seen you freak out like that before!" I tell her that bees and wasps are one of my three greatest mortal fears and she nearly falls off the bench AGAIN from laughter! We went inside after she stopped laughing.

Here's a tip, just crush the next spider you see. It's quick and probably the most merciful thing you could do.

Spiders don't bother me very much at all. In fact, I love them very much. The thing that keeps me from holding one, actually, is the fact that I don't know if I'm allergic to spider venom or not. (ALL spiders are venomous. Some may not be deadly-venomous, but it can be VERY bad if you happen to be allergic.) And some spiders are very skittish and will bite when scared.

BUT, UHM. [ahem]

The only time I've ever wanted to kill a creepy-crawly on purpose is when it's a fly. I hate flies, very much. I've chased them around the house a few times, but even so, I'd feel bad if I didn't give it a quick and merciful death.

NOW. My mom and brother, on the other hand, are absolutely terrified of spiders. My mom found a huge wolf spider on the curtains behind her couch one day and called me in. I told her to get a plastic container with a lid and something to get it inside of it so we could let it go outside. I offered to do the capturing, but she wanted to do it herself.

Hilarity ensued as I watched her iiiinch closer to the certains, swatter and cup in hand and then flee back without even getting a foot near the spider. Then she'd proceed to pace about the room, shaking her head and comforting herself under mumbles. Then she'd try again,a dn the cycle would repeat multiple times before I finally said, "Well, it's big. And my personal rule is, if it's baby let it live, but if it's big, it's lived long enough." That cracked her up, so she moved forward to swat it.

It fell to the floor and began skittering. I was the one who had to do the deed.

I felt so bad for my mom afterward. She was literally trembling from how scared she had been. <x]

And now for my brother, Atticus!. My mom, he, and I were in the kitchen. I think it was after school? He goes to open the fridge and suddenly he lets out a loud yelp, leaps back and scrambles onto the counter, staring wide-eyed over at the fridge. There was a house spider, innocently danging down on a thin strand of its silk. "KILL IT!!!" So I did. :[

So, uh... yeah.

Although I am easily scared by bugs that fly and sting, moreso wasps because they don't need a good reason to sting you. I can walk through a bunch of bumblebees with relative ease of the mind. But wasps? Oh, lord...

I can never kill spiders, I love them too much. Maybe if it was a really dangerous spider and it was running towards me. I can't get close enough to centipedes, millipedes, or cockroaches to kill them. They freak me out too much. So yep, I'm useless when it comes to killing. I don't have a problem catching most bugs and taking them outside though.

Needless to say, that was actually quite fun...

Hmmm...
One time I killed a centipede with shampoo, conditioner, and a piece of foil. I didn't know what it was at the time though. it took along time for that bug to die.

I've also trapped cockroaches and spiders in pickle jars and left them out in sun because I was too scared to smash them and didn't want to clean up their bodies...

There was also a time this last semester where there was a mosquito hawk in a classroom of mine and half the class ended up half running into the hallway, freaking out and waiting for someone to so something about it.The bug got to live that day because it went into the neighboring classroom, but it was still funny to see so many adult act like all at once, in the middle of class.

When I was in third grade, there was an itty bitty little baby wolf spider in our classroom..... our teacher screamed, jumped up onto a chair, and danced and screamed on the chair. She kept shouting for one of us, her students, to get it out of the classroom. I kept thinking "..... it's just a little baby spider. Those kind don't even bite. All they do is run away."

well spiders arn't techinacally considered bugs Dx sadly.. so that's why they don't die as easy..usually. Gawwwd... I hate those things so much though. I am terrified to even kill them.. unless i'm completly alone and it's a last resort. i will try to find a broom or something. but if my boyfriend or someone is around usually i just tell them to kill it. Dx

I once had an ant crawl into my computer keyboard so I repeatedly hit the key it was under and killed it dead. >:

Other than that: I have ninja mosquitoes in my room presently. I never see them flying around, but I wake up every morning with at least one more mosquito bite. I can't figure out how to kill them when I can't see them! D:

When i was four, I almost got into the bath with a HUGE Scorpain. I stay as far away from them as possible now. And after being bitten by spiders multiple times, I stay as far away as possible, giving off the girliest of screams when I see them.

I've never seen a scorpian before.. >.< though, I live in America. If they are here.. i'm guessing they arn't in my Area as I have never seen one.
