Default RECIPE SWAP!~   #1
So, Batty LOVES TO COOK. I mean, absolutely adores it. And I love to take a gander at other peoples recipes. Mostly because it gives me something new to try, and also, because I like to share mine as well.

So, I decided "Hey, why not make a recipe swapping thread?" And here we are! So post your recipes, take others', and if you end up trying something you got from here, let us know how you liked it!

Since I started the thread, I suppose I should start us off, huh?

BATTY'S AWESOME LAZY LASAGNA!

What you'll need:
____________________
++ A box or so of Rigatoni noodles.
++ Your pasta sauce of choice [I use Garlic and Basil, or Three Cheese from Bertoli]
++ Mozzarella Cheese [either shredded, or a block]
++ Ricotta Cheese
++ Ground Beef
++ Spicy Italian Sausage [OPTIONAL]

Basically what you do, is boil the noodles to your liking. Cook the meats either together, or separate. Mix the noodles, the meat, the sauce, and the Ricotta together. Slice or sprinkle on your Mozzarella cheese, and bake in a 350 degree oven until the cheese is melted. You can also use subtle spices when you cook your meat.. things like Garlic Powder. <3 Everytime I make this dish for people, they go nuts. xD; Its something I'm quite famous for.

So, your turn! Post your stuff, so I can tryyy eeettt!

Batty's mule, yo.

Pattern Recognizer
Haven't tried this yet, but I'm interested to do so:

Homemade Instant Oatmeal Packets

1/4 c. instant ("Minute Oats") oatmeal
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sweetener such as sugar, to taste (optional)

Add to plastic baggie, shake to mix, and you have an "instant oatmeal packet." Prepare as you would commercial instant oatmeal packets - place in bowl, add 1/2 c. boiling water, and allow to steep for 5 minutes.

For different flavors, the author suggests:

Cinnamon and Raisins:
Add 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and 2 doz. raisins per bag.

Blueberries and Cream:
Add 1 Tbs. non-dairy creamer and 1 1/2 doz. dried blueberries per bag.

Ramen stir fry (That's actually more Italian than stir fry lawl)

What you need:
Frozen Chicken Breasts
Any veggies (I only use mushrooms.. I know, not veggies)
Ramen of any flavor (I usually use oriental.)
Garlic salt
Olive oil

Put some water in a frying pan and cook the chicken some in the pan as to thaw it.

At the same time, put your ramen noodles in a pan and simmer them, not boil or they will cook to much. In the end you don't want them to be soggy or it will be gross.

When your chicken is done, chop it up on a cutting board and throw it in a frying pan with olive oil. Turn it up on medium to get it started before adding veggies.

When you've done that, start chopping your veggies and adding them to the chicken. Make sure to stir occasionally. Add garlic salt in small amounts, not too strong.

When your ramen is done, the noodles should not be squishy.. It's hard to explain but don't over-cook them. xD Put them in a strainer and let them sit.

Continue to fry your chicken and veggies. When they are done, add the noodles and add some ramen flavoring if you want. I always do.

Stir it around a bit, because once you add the noodles it's done.

Serve and enjoy. :B

I cooked it wrong the first time but when I made it again it was super tasty.

The Lord of Mushrooms
Tuna Noodles

2 Cans of Tuna
Extra Wide Noodles (Cooked)
2+ Hardboiled Eggs
1 Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup (Big Dish- Maybe 2)
1 Bag of Frozen Peas
Onions
Sailt & Peppers
Crushed Potato Chips
Celery

Pre-heat oven to 350 Degrees Farenheit, bake for 30 minutes.

(The reason why it's so vague is because I found this recipe from 2 houses passed when both my landlady and I were moving.)

I wish I could put a recipe up here, but:

1. I use the metric system >_>
2. Whenever I come up with something brilliant tasting, I forget to write it down, and will have forgotten how I actually made it an hour later >_>

I like all yours though, and I am planning to try it out :3

OH. THAT REMINDS ME.

I have a recipe for cupcakes... that have half the calories. I haven't tried them yet, though. xDD;

Cupcake Ingredients:
-1 3/4 cups flour
-1 cup white sugar (or I substituted with "Whey Low"- only 4 calories per tsp, as opposed to 15 calories per tsp of sugar, cutting total sugar content down dramatically)
-3/4 cup cocoa powder (I used Ghirardelli natural unsweetened cocoa)
-1 1/2 tsp baking soda
-1 1/2 tsp baking powder
-1 tsp salt
-1 1/4 cups low fat buttermilk (I substituted w/ 1 cup non-fat milk, 1/4 cup Fromage Blanc 0% fat... it's like a FF sour cream)
-1 cup light brown sugar lightly packed
-2 eggs, lightly beaten
-1/4 cup canola oil
-2 tsp vanilla extract
-1 cup hot black coffee

Peanut Butter Icing Ingredients:

-1/4 cup peanut butter
-1/4 cup reduced fat cream cheese
-1/4 cup Fat Free Ricotta Cheese (this was my addition to the recipe, though not called for originally. But I LOVE the addition)
-1 cup Confectioner's sugar (I substituted with Whey Low)
-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-2 tbsp Peanuts chopped (I skipped it)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray cupcake pan w/ nonstick spray
2. In large bowl, whisk together flour, white sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt.
3. Add buttermilk (or substitute), brown sugar, eggs, oil, vanilla. Mix well to combine. Whisk in hot coffee.
4. Pour batter into pan and bake for 20-25 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely.
5.Meanwhile, prepare icing. In a small bowl mix all ingredients except peanuts. Spread on cooled cupcakes and sprinkle with chopped peanuts.

Serves 16

Calories: 255 as made to the original recipe. With my substitutes, probably more like 150-200 calories

Cocoa Bruning Smoothie

Ingredients:

-1 cup of non-fat milk/coconut water

-2 tablespoons blackstrap molasses

-1 tablespoon unsweetned cocoa

-1/2 tablespoon cinnamon

-1 scoop of vanilla whey protein

Blend ingredients together then add in one cup of ice and blend again. Enjoy!

Here's the recipe:

Reese’s Chewy Chocolate Cookies
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Hershey’s Cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1-1/4 cups (2-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
1-2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips

Heat oven to 350°F. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; set aside.
Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with mixer until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating well. Stir in peanut butter chips. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 9 minutes. (Do not overbake; cookies will be soft. They will puff while baking and flatten while cooling.) Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. About 4-1/2 dozen cookies.

Pan Recipes: Spread batter in greased 15-1/2x10-1/2x1-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake at 350°F 20 minutes or until set. Cool completely in pan on wire rack; cut into bars. About 4 dozen bars.

Ice Cream Sandwiches: Prepare CHEWY CHOCOLATE COOKIES as directed; cool. Press small scoop of vanilla ice cream between flat sides of cookies. Wrap and freeze.

HIGH ALTITUDE DIRECTIONS:
-- Increase flour to 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons.
-- Decrease baking soda to 3/4 teaspoon.
-- Decrease sugar to 1-2/3 cups.
-- Add 2 teaspoons water with flour mixture.
-- Bake at 350°F, 7 to 8 minutes. Yield increases to about 6 dozen.
