Anyone know how to fix a mouse dropping the input of the Left Mouse Button (LCLICK)?

I've tested it with two different mice, and they have the same result. While unplugging and replugging the mouse makes it more consistently not drop the input, it'll still drop it.

I've had to put the 'destroy / attack' button onto the fourth mouse button for Minecraft.

...This might be in the wrong section of the forums.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that it works fine with 20 Mins Til Dawn's UI, but not actually shooting enemies. I have the same issue with Terraria where dropping inputs is incredibly irritating and inconsistent.

Huh. That's weird. Is this a desktop or a laptop? What operating system?

The only time I've ever seen this before it was a matter of the click on a laptop's trackpad being stuck on, and connecting an external mouse would nudge the OS into recognizing when you release that mouse button. But the symptoms weren't quite the same as what you describe overall.

desktop. i've tested this with two mice, one with a slightly shitty scroll wheel, but overall the result is the same.

thankfully most games have rebindable keys, but when they don't, it becomes incredibly frustrating.

I don't suppose there's something silly like you left another mouse plugged in and forgot about it? (I have done that before, so no judgment.)

... Actually, did maybe Click Lock somehow get turned on? Open up the Mouse settings in the legacy Control Panel; it should be at the bottom of the Buttons tab.

i have no idea how to get to the legacy control panel.
also, i have no idea how i'd manage to have two mice plugged in, given that most computers only need one unless there is some special sort of insanity going on.
this keyboard doesn't have a numpad, and all the function keys are relegated to being alternate inputs for the regular top row shelf of numbers, so it's probably click lock getting turned on, somehow.

ok, checked. click lock is not on and never has been. i've enabled and disabled it.

the issue was... the port. somehow.
so now i have a working mouse. dubiously, anyways. idk whatt he fuck was up with that port.
