not old enough to be old and back ergo new | #1
Noob is as noob asks, so how do I wear a base and still layer the legs on my avatar so that the legs of the base don't also show?
I went to layering and i played around and could do nothing. Anyway. On to the actual intro. I joined Trisphee maybe a couple of years ago? Not sure. I feel like I've been gone a long while, probably because a lot has happened in my life since then. I got into college and I've almost finished the first year. I got ill, IBS, it's chronic and progressively getting worse ![]() ![]() And now I'm able to donate to both places, too, so yay for that! (I'm sniping from my college survival fund, actually, but shhh, lovely avatar forum sites are needed to survive college more than anything else, amirite?

Welcome back to Trisphee! Your ghostly avatar is adorable. If you'd like, there are arm mods, and there's the Adam body parts set that is sold in separate parts in the Body Shop. It's costly to get started, but worth it. If you have any questions feel free to ask ^^ I just enrolled into a Dental Assisting program on Friday. It's going to be 9 months of schooling, but I feel like I'm making the right choice. This will be a great career for me. Someday you will look back on your college days and realize everything you did was worth it.

Thanks, Ginger! :3 I looked up the Adam body parts set, and yeah, I'll have to post and save up quite a bit, but they'll definitely work. Are the arm mods available in any of the shops? I'm guessing not, that I'll have to trade, ne?
Also is there anything like an item guide/dream avatar creator I could refer to for what arm mods are possible? o u o That's wonderful, congratulations! It feels great to know exactly what you want to do, and be on your way to do it. I certainly felt that way when I first came to college. I have two more years left to get through and I do love it, I love the classes and the community, but my body ruins it for me ;_; I wish the timing of the illness wasn't such as to coincide with college. This is the one time opportunities are literally dropped into my lap, and I'm ending up missing out on so much :/

My sympathies. Me and a number of my family members all fall into the "IBS and then some" category. I was starting some new college stuff as well! Of course, I'm one of the older people here, I'm sure, but I can say that things like college don't always have to me one time things. My body has crapped out on me a couple times but I'm back in the college thing again! Library science this time.

Ugh doesn't it suck?!
That's definitely comforting, that there's not just one chance at it. I really like the idea of being a librarian, too bad my family would never fund me studying that haha. I'm pretty happy with what I'm studying now though. What did you major in the previous time? Also, you are super brave. To fight for the things you want from life even though your body is often such an obstacle. I guess I'm finding hostel life difficult because a) the horrible public bathrooms, b) the lack of control over what food I get to eat, and c) just the whole structure of things. Morning classes. The overall physically draining experience that a college day is. Losing loads of time in the bathroom when you need that time for homework. Also, the fact that it's an hour's travel to the nearest grocer's. The streets don't even have street lights, so plenty of mugging and harassment. Which feeds into b) and also means I can't see a doctor, because it'd take four hours travel for one visit. Sorry for textwalling a self-centered ramble ![]()

I've had a number of health problems but I did have some help from various resources, and my parents and I had a "split the bill" deal when it came to school (the first time around). I have a degree in English Literature. Took me a bit because my high school completion was delayed because of health. There's a story there.
I tried to go for a technical writing certificate because English is pretty useless, but that's when I started having IBS issues that later turned nasty. Story there, too. I eventually decided on Library tech, which is a diploma program, so not completely librarian stuff but the stuff that I figure I would actually do. I'm doing it part time, and since a lot of the material is online I can work on it on my own terms. I'm not always good about managing my school work but I get there. I've been working on my physical health more lately, which is helping things somewhat. I have the bonus of being able to live with family though. I live with my older sister on a farm and help out around the place when I can. I take care of my own food and chores and such. My specialists and doctors and such are all an hour plus away. I live in a rural area so not dangerous but remote at times. I consider myself a veteran of health issues though, so I can manage most of it from my arsenal of stuff at home. I only go to a clinic/hospital outside of my regular specialist appointments if I absolutely have to.
