Default Strange dreams and paranormal?   #1
Okay so I've been having strange dreams and I'm not sure why, however I used to live in a house filled with paranormal activity when I lived there my dreams were somewhat normal, I had to leave my old house do to a foreclosure and ever since then my dreams have been a mess, I dunno what to do or how to change things so that my dreams are normal again all I know is maybe my dreams and the paranormal go hand in hand? Any input on this or am I just imagining things?

Could the dreams perhaps be related to where you're staying? I do remember when my parents first split and we got into the first house we could because we had to. It was an incredibly old house, no insulation, really drafty. Not only did I feel like there was going to be something "nasty" one day when I looked in the big mirror in the bathroom, it was a constant fear of mine, I also would have the occasional dream that someone was buried under the house.

I have had my share of paranormal activities, and I do feel like that house was haunted. I also do feel like there was someone buried underneath, though we've never found out. It's condemned now (seriously that house was terrible.) But it's instilled such a fear in me that I don't even look at it when we drive by.

Those dreams did stop once we move. I don't dream about that house now but it was often when we lived in it. I'm not sure what you can do, though there's always burning sage as an option.

You should probably get into the habit of writing your dreams down if you are worried about them. Are you particularly anxious about anything or stressed out? My last question is how receptive to supernatural forces do you feel?

Being Native American I'm always cautious about burning sage, if something is unwelcome in your home and you burn sage without telling it to leave or get out bad things can happen...really bad things.

I remember the time I was throwing wildflower seeds down in the woods behind my house it's a lovely woods where my ancestors would have their campfires and more than likely lived over 200 years ago or so I have come across the graves of some of them and threw wildflower seeds down it was there I once saw a man looking at me he looked like Native American Chief problem as you could almost see through him I saw him twice second time I saw him he quickly disappeared and about 2 minutes later a bald eagle flew over my head. I've seen my fair share of things. lol

But the things in my house I couldn't see but my cats at the time could see a lot of stuff.

What state do you live in? I have strange dreams when I stay in haunted places as well, I live in Oklahoma so it's hard trying to live in a place without Paranormal stuff.

Rainbows and stuff
When I was younger I had a very strange reoccurring dream. The house I lived in was full of paranormal activity. People think I'm a little crazie when I talk about things like this but I'm a strong believer. Anyways...so I had this same dream but each time I had it it grew a little. One night I had the same dream but it reached an ending. After having it for like...10 years. The creepy thing though is that that morning I found out we were moving. Ever since then I never had that dream again but I can remember all of it. Now...I can't remember the last dream I had.

So to me I believe that if the paranormal is strong enough it can effect you. The better ones are not harmful but...just linger. Taking small objects, moving little objects, temperature change, and even so much as your dreams or state of being. More...evil ones I guess for lack of better terms do things like break objects like pictures or vases. They turn lights on and off or faucets off and on. Or even bodily harm like scratches or burns.

So I do believe that it's a thing but I sadly have no real advice for you other to fall asleep to something that makes you happy. A book or a movie...because that would be freshest in your minds eye and perfect material for dreams scaping. It worked for me for awhile so hopefully it could help.

I used to live in Michigan but moved to Texas most of my strange dreams also seem to act up more during or before thunderstorms, not sure why.

Side note: I am also getting a doll I am naming after two of my deceased friends one was murdered by her own mother who then killed herself the other friend died in a nursing home, both had down syndrome ever since I decided to name this doll after both of them I cannot stop thinking or dreaming of them. None of the dreams are bad or scary they seem so happy and peaceful.

I do know of some possessed objects but I do not believe this doll will be one of them I have heard of haunted dolls though..

I do have a possessed toy cat that meows with nothing and no one near her...She mews and purrs whenever I talk to her. o_o;

Do you have bad memories associated to storms?

...actually...most paranormal activity and haunting happen because of people doing that. By giving an object the physical name of a dead member or like talking to this person opens a portal. This portal can bring in anything from a simple haunt to a poltergeist.

Weather (more specifically a change in pressure due to weather) can do some weird things to your mind. Migraine activity + storm front = Not a good time.
And maybe you were used to the activity in Michigan, so without it, you're dreaming about it instead? Sort of a "feel the stress of the event after you've gotten past it" thing.

(Sorry I can't really think of something off the top of my head...maybe try to make your current area feel more relaxed?)

I am not sure about your case, but I will usually dream about monsters and such after watching the stuff on tv. And that is why I don't watch paranormal witness or stuff like that. Even a scary commercial can be enough to give me nightmares.

Sure, sometimes I dream about paranormal stuff out of nowhere. I like to think of it as symbolic. Like there is something in real life that is bothering me that I am struggling with and trying to overcome. Maybe a new job. A new place. A fight with my hubby.

When it comes to the paranormal I don't dream about it I've seen stuff when I'm fully awake and as for my dreams they seem to be more messed up that usual then again I did just receive my doll...I know I know naming her after my two deceased friends might not be the wisest thing to do but what can I do? I just miss them both so much and cannot stop thinking about them..

We've had some more storms roll in and they just seem to kick my dreams up like crazy and no I'm not afraid of storms or anything.

Honestly sounds like you miss your friends a lot and that the weather is messing with your head - not in the "I am scared" way, but more in the "And suddenly polka dots" way. Combine the two to get dreams that are sad/scary/surreal. (At least that is what happens to me)

Maybe naming the doll after friends will help, if you try to think of it as a way to remember how they lived (the positives). Maybe make something separate for how they died and cast it away (like a little boat)? Or it may just take time.

If you are okay with a hug, I'd offer it. :)

Tattooed & foul-mouthed
Some people are just sensitive to the other realms. I am too, and I've noticed that there's a lot of things that can make for strange dreams, including the weather outside. Weather can affect the energies of the physical realm, and can also mess with the other realms, because of the energy changes storms bring. Strange dreams can also be a way for the spirit realm to get a message across, because sometimes, the waking mind can be too active for the message to be heard or seen.

Maybe try writing down the dreams if you're able to remember them when you wake up, and look online to see if there's any potential meanings to the aspects of the dreams?

As for missing your friends, if it helps bring about healing, then naming the doll after your friends isn't a bad thing. It might also help to do like Law suggested with making something to be released. I'd also suggest doing something for Day of the Dead, when the veil between the realms is thinnest, and it's easier for the spirits of loved ones to visit.
I use She/Her and They/Them pronouns.

Well I believe that dreams are not connected to the paranormal. I think your dreams are affected by your daily life. Such as school, family.
Like if you are looking into a keyhole in your dream. It may mean that you are not seeing the situation clearly. You need a better perspective or you need to see it through someone else's point of view.
