The Ascent Aesthetic
Default Taking Charge   #1

While the others were running all over the yard, shouting Seb's name, waving down random passers-by, Sasan tried to think of their best course to find where the kid had gotten off to. There weren't any obvious tracks, but with the wind tossing the snow all over, that was hardly surprising. But all this panic would get them nowhere. Curling his lips, Sasan whistled, the piercing sound breaking through the frantic worry that had overtaken his friends. Waving his arms, he called them over.

“Alright, we've gotta find the kid, we all know that, but runnin' around in hysterics ain't gonna help that one bit. So. Kai, Elly, Virge, you off in that direction and see if you can find any sign of Seb.” He gestured southwest, or so he thought, back the way they came in, at any rate. “He can't have gotten far, so we just need t'be smart about this.”

He turned to the others. “Fakir, could y'take Kat and Kylesti off the other way? It's pretty cold in here, so we need t'find him fast. I'm gonna go see the park manager and fill him in on what's going on. Maybe he can get on the intercom and call Seb back.” He clapped his hands and tried to force a smile, fighting down a shiver – he'd forgotten to grab his jacket. “Let's move!”

It seemed to work, as he watched both groups move off in opposite directions with something resembling cohesion. They just needed someone to give them direction. Clutching his shoulders, Sasan ran off to the nearest park office.

By the time he got there, he was shivering uncontrollably. But when he tried the door, he found it locked, and no one answered his ensuing knocks. It was only after a minute of standing there in the cold Sasan saw the hanging sign on the door: Out to Lunch. “Figures,” he muttered, as he started back to the cabin. He had to get something warmer if he was going to stay out here.

Once he had his coat and mittens, it was time to go look for Seb on his own. Striking out on a path between the other two groups, he made sure to keep checking his surroundings while calling out Sebastian's name. No sense in both of them getting lost out here. No answer came back, unfortunately, and he couldn't find any sign that Seb had come this way. Hopefully the others would have better luck.
