Those vows of poverty get you every time :p I just don't want to have to rely on my roommate so much even though he says he doesn't mind taking care of me financially. It's just without a second income there's very little room for leisure spending :(

Yeah, that's understandable. I don't have any sort of income, so I don't buy games very often. My parents pay for my college and whatnot, thankfully, so when something does come along that catches my eye I usually have the money to pick it up. I tend to wait for prices to come down, though.

I do that for just about everything. My ex-roommate and I were both avid gamers so we had a list and there were certain games we did get right away. Mostly Atlus stuff because she made more than me ^^; I usually had to go for the Nippon Ichi games myself, but it all basically stopped since I moved to where I am now. Then my medical condition made me quit my job... I'm just glad my current roommate agreed to come help me out even if I feel guilty about him paying for just about everything :/

Played a little more before bed last night. Decided to forge ahead in the story, so I'm in chapter 6 now. Average dungeon level is early 20s, I'm still in the 40s. But I got a new character, and true to the Idea Factory formula, she joined at level 8, so she's dragging down my total efficiency a tad. Then again, she's replacing Prinny, so....

Oh, and I fought Flonne. She might have been tough if I wasn't 20 levels above her. As it stands, I rarely get past my first character's actions in boss fights. Granted, he's my strongest and has the most AP< but still, I want to see how much pain I can dish out with everyone giving it their all. Nothing lives long enough, though. :p

I'm sure the postgame will help with that....

Well if a Lurker didn't wipe out your party with it's primary attack at least you know they are strong enough to take a bunch of hits, so you'll get to see what you can do the next time you fight a beatable Lurker.

I was looking at my Saturn games the other night and wondered if you've ever heard of Panzer Dragoon?

The name sounds familiar, but I don't think I know anything about it. What's it like?

The first two were action games, basically it's a person riding a dragon, and the dragon is the last of it's kind, a genetically engineered monster. The "Empire" tries to capture it to find out how it was made but the rider helps the dragon overcome them all and do it's duty, which was to protect the world from the ancient technology which would wipe out humanity. The world setting is all pretty bleak, but you don't get much of that until the third game, which is more RPGish and has a lot of story elements that help explain the first two. Then the 4th one on Xbox 360 that I played briefly but don't have anymore. I can't say much for the action games, though they were decently made, but the RPG one was well written I thought and had a lot of good elements in it, as well as having some absolutely wonderful boss battles.

Hmm. I wonder if I could find them for an emulator. I would imagine so. I'll have to check those out. You know, at some point. :p

Well my copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga worked on a Saturn emulator for the first few fights, the compatibility list said it would crash but it hadn't been tested in a while. I didn't test Panzer Dragoon 1 or 2 though. I'm sure you could find them, my computer is slightly too weak to emulate the Saturn at full speed though :( I'd use my actual system if the memory wasn't broken on it >>

Off-topic (or back on-topic?) but I just learned to my great amusement that the final game mechanic in Trinity Universe, called the Conversion Shop, doesn't open until after you beat the main story. Somehow, this doesn't surprise me, at this point. :p

I played the first one, and I have the second one but I never got around to it.

I liked the first game a fair bit. How was the second?

Buggy :( The story was a bit more "out there" but I enjoyed it very much. I really want to play it again for the other storyline, really I need to do that for the first one also... Not to mention the third one is out and I want it too.

Oh, I thought the second game had a better battle system than the first one too.
