:D I've tried with just a regular crochet hook, and that in itself was fun.
I'm not very active right now, because of stuff. If you don't see me around and you really need to get hold of me, you can yell at me over at one of these places? My blog. KofK CS Gaia Sale thread woman

Not going to lie, I had to look up Tunisian crochet lol. It made my brain hurt lol, pretty though and I can easily see how if you like the challenge and more complex stuff it'd be right up your ally.
I've only ever really worked with whatever yarn I can find at Michaels or Hobby Lobby but I hear from my friend who can do all the yarn things similar complaints about finding good yarn at good prices. That's terrible that you had a package of it go missing. Whenever my friend comes down to visit she often will hit up a few different yarn and quilting shops we have around here to try and find good deals. It probably wouldn't hurt in the future for me to attempt to learn more than just a basic chain if I ever really want to dive into things. For one, that eats up a bunch of yarn doing that way I've noticed. Regarding other crafty things, I think a new year's resolution will to be to set a goal of amount of craft projects I'd like to actually complete this year and really set myself up to stick to it. This year I had wanted to make at least three different things for Christmas gifts but did not wind up doing so. I figure surely if I start planning now I should be able to knock them out by Christmas lol.

hopefully you can see everything at this link on ravelry, it should be all of my tunisian items i've made. let me know if there's a "Colleen Cowl II," because i've started another, but it's not showing up in a non-signed in browser for me. it's fun once you get used to what you're doing. :D

Trystan,
ERMERGERD so many awesome pretties you've made! I really do like the look of the Tunisian crochet the more I look at it. I also love the stained glass socks you made, and the Jack Hat (hubs is huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan), and the Raven illusion, and the R2D2 hat, and the knit cardigan and and and lol Seriously though, you're very talented and there a lot of really pretty and well done projects there. Though, I do not see the Colleen Cowl II you had asked about either.

Dalhanahue, I'll actually crochet with any yarn that doesn't fall apart while I try to work it. But here in Canada at least, and on a fixed budget, being able to afford even thrift store yarn is a major undertaking. Seven dollars for one skein is prohibitive.
Yes, but not very easily! lol Or maybe I should say comfortably. I'm not very active right now, because of stuff. If you don't see me around and you really need to get hold of me, you can yell at me over at one of these places? My blog. KofK CS Gaia Sale thread woman

Dalhanahue, thanks!
(that's okay about the Colleen Cowl II, it's in progress, and not completed yet) feel free to click on the "ravelry" link in my sig for all my projects.... i just linked only the tunisian crochet XD Tam - correct, it's a little awkward. but if it's a small enough around of stitches, it could work.

How many years have you been turning yarn to pretties? What is/are your favorite thing/s to work on?

That's awesome.
So, I kind of guessed what amigurumi was from context through out the thread here but I still wanted to look it up for curiosity purposes and it is adorable but also I was blessed with this treasure poping up under the "shopping" section of the search and it really really tickles me... oh that's a cute book, too. i haven't made any oversized amis, but my younger daughter did - she made a HUGE Dalek from blanket yarn. i think she could have used a thicker blanket yarn, but i don't think it existed at the time XD (i don't have a pic, but there might be one of Goliath on her instagram - she's "extermafriends" over there and it's public.)

Giant plushies! *grabby hands*
If only I could crochet...but I'm so bad at it. oh, and TAM: Missing box did make it's way back to me. I'm waiting until probably next month to send it again because I have rent coming up and not enough funds to pay $40+ in shipping at the moment. xP

Did more fiddling with the critter I'm crocheting. Looks like it's not going to be as big as I was trying to make it, but it'll still be bigger than what I usually do. It's going to be a derpy looking rabbit, with a slightly vintage look to it. ...I hope.

lol I'll be good now, sorry guys. Though the brat part of me wants to go, "I've been crocheting longer than Trystan!" But strictly speaking, not quite true, because I stopped doing it for years under the conviction that no one wanted anything I could make. Also, as I've said, I can't do blankets and hats and stuff. About the book, though, it's good to see someone realizing that beginner patterns should not be ones that make tiny fiddly things. Tiny things are NOT easiest to make. This makes me so happy. It had occurred to me when it was too late already that when I realized I'd given you the wrong addy I could have gone to the post office and talked to my post lady, and she probably would have been able to find it for me. Hindsight 20/20 yey? I'm not very active right now, because of stuff. If you don't see me around and you really need to get hold of me, you can yell at me over at one of these places? My blog.
