oh yes I have figured it out now!
you get red from wins and purple from loosed you get purple from posting and rarely a red from posting.

Yeah, though I hear the event is going on longer than I thought which is nice to know. I'll call any beyond the two I want a bonus. Been fighting so much at the moment that I'm running short on crystals for simply not posting much.
