Default Catch me as I fall? [Lee and Blitz] -M-   #1
Marked mature for language, violence, and or sexual themes. Please don't read on if you are not prepared for this level of maturity.

What happens when an angel thrown from the heavens meets up with a demon who resides in the human world? She's had a streak of bad luck and unfortunate circumstances, and he's likely her only hope for safety anymore. Will these two wandering supernatural beings be able to make it together in a human world?

It's been three days now since she'd found herself thrown down into this world that she'd only ever visited from afar in the past. Iradella knows nothing about how to handle herself here, knows nothing of the way these people live. It's not at all like her old life up in the heavens when her only job was to serve her masters. The femme has no masters anymore, no hope. These humans have no idea how good they have it, to not know what lies beyond, to be able to live in the ignorance that can sprout hope...something to convince them to keep going every day. It seems she no longer has that, has nothing at all aside from two still bleeding wounds down the length of her back, the clothes she's bundled up in now and what change resides in her pockets.

By now, the angel assumes it must be the middle of spring. Sadly she hasn't been keeping very good tabs on this world. All those around her on the streets are dressed in short sleeves, dresses and the like. Unlike all those 'normal' people though, the young fallen is bundled up in a winter coat, fur lined hood pulled up over her haphazardly died hair. It's suspicious enough for her to have blood red eyes without the snow white hair she was also born with.

It seems that ever since arriving, or falling as they tend to call it, her body has been unable to cope with the temperature change. She half wonders if it's normal, but there is nobody around worth asking. It seems that the only time another fallen reveals themselves it is in order to try and take her life. Needless to say, it's been a traumatic few days so far, and she's yet to find any redeeming qualities about this realm.

Walking along with her head down and her mind clouded in thought, Iradella doesn't seem to notice another body as she collides with it, significantly shorter than the man in question whose chest feels nearly the same as impacting with a brick wall. Stumbling back a step, the femme's eyes go wide in surprise, hood falling back to reveal soft features, fair skin, and crimson eyes. "Uh..sorry." she mumbles all too nervously before slipping around the male in an attempt to escape before any conflict has the chance of arising.

Simply on his way to buy a pack of cigarettes, Mavek's hands were shoved into his pockets as he continued his stroll. His fingers were gripped around the money that rested in his pocket as he continued to pretty much keep his gaze down. He didn't look to be anything special, besides the fact that he was fairly tall... His hair was cut in a pretty choppy style, half of it falling in front of one of his eyes slightly... It was pretty damn fluffy too, making it obvious of his obsession with a blow dryer... It was one of the best inventions ever in his mind.

Yawning softly, he was so ready to get to the nearest gas station and actually be able to buy a pack. He didn't have any, so he was really looking forward to stepping through the doors and walking into the place. He smiled softly to himself as his eyes rested on the station. He walked inside and walked straight to the check out. They looked up and noticed it was him, the lady behind the counter shaking her head and grabbing exactly what he would want. Mavek just handed her the money and got his change. He grabbed the carton and walked, not a word shared between them. That was how it always happened and he wouldn't have it any other way.

Walking back out of the gas station, he looked to make sure he wasn't going to hit anyone before he opened the door. He then started back to his home. He didn't feel like going anywhere else as it was. He just tucked the carton until his arm and shoved his hands back into his pockets as he walked, his mind on so many other things... Mavek looked like any other guy on the streets, but he wasn't anything like that... He was odd, actually. He was a demon... But he hadn't always been that way... Sometimes he wished he wouldn't have to stay this way, but... He knew he did. He'd been given this power as a way to save him, but all it did was destroy him mentally and sometimes even physically.

Then he felt something soft and odd run into his, his eyes resting down on a rather short female wrapped up in winter clothes. She'd shocked him enough for the carton to fall out of his arm and to the ground. He leaned over and wrapped his fingers around it, surprised when the woman whispered her apology and then just went to leave. He grabbed her shoulder lightly, his fingers making an odd noise on the fabric of the jacket. "Don't worry about it," he said as he tried his best to keep her from leaving. "Why... Why are you wearing that?" He raised an eyebrow. He couldn't imagine wearing something like that right now.

The fact that the male's cigarettes fell to the ground only made her feel all the worse about running into him. Sure the impact had been a bit worse for the young fallen herself, being so small in comparison, but she still hadn't been paying any attention to where she was going. After regaining her footing and mumbling her apology, she made an effort to slip past as unnoticed as possible. The less interaction she had with these humans the better.

At the feeling of long fingers gripping against her shoulder, Della instinctively tensed and nearly jumped in surprise, spinning to look at the male with what might have been fear in her eyes if you looked closely enough. With all the conflict she'd endured so far, the femme had learned not to trust anyone all too much. Where she'd been sure he would have yelled or scolded her though, the man with the unruly hair only seemed to reassure her. Confused by his kindness, she merely blinked, shoulders lowering a bit, guard slipping down slightly as she tilted her head curiously up at the male.

Glancing down to herself then, she noted the coat, something nobody else seemed to be wearing. "Uhm...because I'm cold.." she stated then, her voice soft, still timid as she tugged nervously at the sleeves of her coat then. With that, the former angel brought a scarf up to wrap about her mouth and nose, glancing to the side and away from the man who seemed perplexed. "I'm cold and it smells in this city..." she spoke, barely more than a whisper then, only telling the truth thus far. Her body simply wasn't adjusting to this environment, and the stench of humans seemed to be everywhere.

Crimson eyes moved to the box in his arms then and she pointed. "I'm sorry about you...er..box." Taking a step back then, she lowered her head. "I should leave you be now." she tried once more to retreat.

Sizing her up with his eyes, he couldn't help but feel bad for her. It was... Really hot out here, actually... Was she from somewhere down south and wasn't used to these temperatures? With that being the case, then she had to be from somewhere right on the equator... But she didn't appear to be foreign... Or sound foreign in the least bit. This caused his face to scrunch in slight confusion, but he fixed it soon after, trying not to destroy his brain on this too terribly much. She wasn't from here and he knew it... He just did. He was good at things like this. She was from somewhere else... He could feel it...

Wait... He could feel it? That wasn't normal... Not when dealing with humans that is... He then looked down at the ground and tried his best to concentrate on what he was feeling. He didn't try to focus his energy often... So, this was something that was odd for him... He just sighed when he was certain she wasn't even human. He then looked back up at her, a playful smirk playing at his lips. He wondered if she even realized that he wasn't human either. He found this to be rather comical. She was so frantic, probably because she didn't like to be out and about. That made him only want to talk to her even more... Perhaps for his own personal gain, or maybe to just mess around... Yank her around a little.

Piecing things together in his head, Mavek already had some things figured out. She was cold because she was used to being so close to the heavenly lights... Which had a warming effect only for that of angels... So, since there was barely any here, she was always freezing. No matter where she went... That was easy to figure out though... But then there's the fact that it smelled bad here to her. Humans smelled foul to anything that wasn't... Well... Human in itself, so that really wasn't much of a help in this. It was simply some reassurance... That she was an angel. But she didn't appear to be on a mission of any kind. She was most certainly not here by choice. She was forced here... She was banished here... Which made things only even more delicious to him. He couldn't believe he had it all figured out already... That only made his ego swell much more than it already was at this moment. He couldn't help his confidence though... It was one of his downfalls... One of his few... Nonexistent downfalls...

Stepping in front of her when she once more tried to get away from him, he shook his head and held a hand before himself. "No, no. Don't worry about it... Though, what's the rush? You don't have to go just yet, do you? You don't have a mission or anything to go to?" he said and then laughed, waving his hand back down to his side. "You're certainly not from around... Here." He then grinned broader as he held his hands up, seemingly referencing the city... But he was pretty much referencing the mortal realm... Hence his broad grin. He wondered if she would catch his subtle hints and drops... That he knew what she was. He was hoping she would... But on the other hand... He wanted to toy with her some more.

This man was all too persistent. Where anyone else on this street would have likely dismissed her themselves, been annoyed my her presence, he seemed intent on not letting her slip away. This, of course, only stirred up the poor thing's nerves. Lately, it seemed nobody had any good intentions. This human world was not a 'good' place, it even smelled foul, and so many of it's people were foul themselves.

"Uhm..." What's the rush? The rush is the fact that her life is constantly on the line. The longer she stays in one place, surrounded by the same people, the more at risk she is. Not to mention, the femme is sure she hasn't eaten in at least the last two days, the fatigue starting to take it's toll. Even now as she stood before this tall man, just looking up to his face made her dizzy. Despite this reaction to looking directly up though, somehow he didn't seem nauseating. Up until now, every person she'd come into contact with had made her stomach twist and turn painfully with their stench. It seemed he had no scent at all...at least, nothing out of the ordinary to her usual senses. It made her curious for a moment, but she soon discarded the thoughts to focus on the situation at hand.

Mission? It seemed like an odd word to use randomly the way he did. Every time they'd sent her out from the heavens it had been a mission, but she was sure humans never had missions of any sort..not usually at least. "Uhm..no...I'm not from here I guess..." she spoke all too quickly, glancing to the side and then back up at the male. Something about that grin made her feel uneasy, gave off the vibe that he knew more than he was letting on.

"I...I have to go now.." He was making her uneasy, and there was no way she could withstand another attack tonight if he was one of the ones looking for her. Red eyes darted from one side of the street to the other then before she turned quickly on her heels, away from the male and made to sprint for the other side of the street. By now, the wounds still all too present on her back were bleeding straight through the bandages and her jacket as well, blood staining through in two strips of red along her shoulder blades.

I'm not from here I guess... That sentence made Mavek grin even more as he watched her scurry away from him. He noticed the blood scent as she turned and he inhaled it deeply, his chest rising as he closed his eyes. He certainly did enjoy the smell of that a little too much... He had to push it out of his head though, as he focused on the fact that she did seem rather fatigued. He figured that she really hadn't been in this realm too long if she were still bleeding from her shoulders where her wings used to connect... They had to be removed for her to become more... Human. Though, that would never actually happen, would it? That thought caused him to grin once more as he watched her disappear down an alleyway. He would be able to find her... Simply because of the fact that she was bleeding.

Sliding back towards the gas station, he tucked his carton of cigarettes under his arm again as he moved. He then made his way down the aisles, looking at things she might possibly like to eat. He wasn't familiar with most of the things in here though... But he saw a jar that read "Peanut Butter" on it. He saw a picture of it smeared on a piece of bread and he figured that would be good... It looked like something someone could enjoy very much... So, he snagged a jar and went looking for the bread. He finally found it, with ease. It was on the next aisle over. He then made his way to the checkout after snagging a plastic knife. She would need something to spread it with after all...

Placing the items on the counter, he was surprised to notice that confusion on the clerk's face. He shook his head and laid a twenty on the counter before she even had time to ring it up. She then gave him back his change and bagged it up for him. He took the bag and made his way back out of the store. He inhaled the air deeply, his eyes closing. He wasn't going to have a problem finding her and that made him pretty damn ecstatic. He liked it when things went his way... He liked it immensely... And everything was in his favor right now as he kept the bag to his side, walking across the street and down the same alleyway she'd retreated down before. He was now on a mission... To find her again and toy with her some more.

Thankfully, she hadn't made it too far... He found her within five minutes of tracking her scent. He grinned to himself as he sauntered over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder, thrusting the bag into her possession. "I noticed you were hungry... So I bought you something to eat," he explained, without taking anything out of the bag at all. He figured it would be obvious that he was slightly different since he could tell where she'd gone, noticed she were hungry, and had time to buy something for her before tracking her down. He didn't have to stalk her to know where she was.

By the time he'd caught up, Della had landed herself behind an abandoned movie theater, seeking shelter someplace where she wouldn't have to deal with people anymore. This human world was just plain overwhelming. Everybody was always moving around, going somewhere. They were either too friendly or pretended you didn't even exist. Having a house took having a job, which took ID, which you couldn't get without a bith certificate, so where did that leave her? She was stranded, she couldn't even function here. It was no wonder the others hated her so much. Between these wounds and this world..she might as well be dead.

Having heard his footsteps before feeling his touch, the femme was already tensed, snapping her gaze back to see him just in time to fumble at grasping the bag he'd shoved at her. "Uh..." Looking from the bag back to the black haired male, she took a step back, sniffing the air and still smelling nothing.

Hesitantly, she looked inside the bag, blinking and then perching herself on a nearby stoop to pull out the bread and peanut butter, looking at the jar curiously before seeing the picture. With that in mind, she unscrewed the top and spread it onto a piece of the bread, blinking and staring down at it for a moment as though she were unsure it was actually edible. Finally though, she topped it with another piece of bread before taking a bite. Even chewing it she seemed confused. It was so sticky, made her thirsty, but in a good way.

Eventually, the food had her humming softly in contentment as she took her third bite of the sandwich, seeming significantly more at ease with some food in her stomach. It was the perfect offering for the difficult angel. Mid bite, she gazed back up to Mavek then. "What are you..?" she questioned plainly, knowing all too well he himself couldn't be human, not with the way he'd been so perceptive.
