Default Skype is Exceptionally Slow   #1
I just want to know if anyone else is having this problem, and if so, how to fix it. I use an HP laptop that runs Windows 8 and I use the desktop version of Skype. I have not installed Windows' 8.1 update.

The other day, I was using skype to IM as per normal, and suddenly it became excruciatingly slow. I opened up task manager to see what was the issue, and Skype was using up 100% of my physical drive's memory, to quote task manager.

I've tried shutting down and turning the computer back on, I've tried erasing all my conversation history, I've tried uninstalling Skype completely and re-installing an earlier version (In case the updates made something worse.) Nothing has worked so far and Skype is pretty integral to some of the things I do. Is there any solution for that?

The only times I've had problems with that....completely quitting skype and re-opening it fixed it....see if quitting it for the entire night will help? Though sometimes it will still be a hog...due to the fact that it's from Microsoft.

And scan for viruses. Always.

I had actually done that a few times with no luck. Every time I start Skype up, it runs my computer to the ground. I just ran a full computer scan and there's nothing wrong with my computer either, so I'm not sure what could've happened...

I've never had that problem. The only issue I had was that the box that shows me on the bottom-right corner of the corner would freeze and lag, but my friend on the other hand was viewing everything just fine. For some reason, I haven't had the problem since then, although I've done nothing at all.
