Solomon sighed as he could feel his phone vibrating in his pocket for the hundredth time today. With a growl, he answered it, "What!?"

The female voice on the other line sighed slightly, "Well there you are! What the hell, I'm here at the cafe with Holden...you said you'd meet us here.."

Solomon closed his eyes with an irritated sigh. He debated just hanging up on her, but he was rarely ever so rude. "Something's come up....I can't make it I'm sorry. I uh..can't explain right now..Sorry." He rolled his eyes and flipped the phone shut and stuffed it into his pants pocket. With another sigh, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his shirt pocket, pulling one out and lighting it with just a thought. He took a long drag, Fledglings.... He looked to the pack of cigarettes with a sigh, Dammit...only one left.. He grabbed his wallet off the end table and headed out the door. He made his way down the stairs of the apartment building and to the lot staring at the three beautiful vehicles; a motorcycle, Corvette and A Porsche, all black. With a slight shrug, he decided to walk. It was such a nice day afterall.

Randy sighed as he sat in his dark green Ford Taurus. The damn person he had been watching hadn't shown up yet, and it was time for him to get off. He reached forward and grabbed the walkie talkie, "Dispatch? This is D-114." He let the black button go as he continued to watch the building. "Go ahead D-114." The dispatcher's voice rang through the silent car. "I need D-117 to come and take over my post." He ran his other hand through his light brown hair. "10-4." When the dispatcher came through again he clipped the walkie back to the dash board.

Randy saw another Detective from the police station coming down the road. He quickly started his car and drove away. He started patting his vest pockets, cursing under his breath when he pulled out an empty pack of cigarettes. Now he was very smart, but he didn't care that he could die from smoking. He could die from his job. Shimmying out of his jacket as he pulled into a stores parking lot. His golden pistol being showed along with his badge. He pulled into a parking stall and got out after he shut off the car. Quickly making his was to the store and walking in the door.

Solomon ran his hand through his hair while he waited in the ridiculously long line at the store. It was a shame you just couldn't pick up a pack yourself and go to any of the other check outs..but no, he was stuck at the tobacco lane; in which seems everyone was standing in-even if they weren't buying tobacco! He eye twitched slightly as he shoved his hands in his pockets, glancing to the door hearing it open and seeing something rather shiny glimmering in the sunlight. He let out a scoff seeing it was an Officer. He looked forward again, at the array of cigarettes behind the counter. He angled his head a bit though, allowing his shaggy hair to hide most of his face from the Detective's view.

Now, Solomon wasn't a wanted criminal, but he certainly was no petty ticket holder on the list either. He had his fair share of unpaid and expensive tickets. He wouldn't be surprised if, that if this detective recognized him, he'd try to get him for his unpaid tickets and for his missed court dates. He usually didn't draw this much attention to himself from law enforcement, but he was just getting so annoyed with them all, he just quit trying.

Randy sighed as he saw the long line at the tobacco line, it was ridiculous. With a shake of his head he started to the line, slipping in behind a black hared male. He glanced at some of the people ahead of he and groaned quietly. "For fucks sake." He mumbled as he crossed his arms over his chest. He tensed when he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket.

After a little fumbling around in his pocket Randy put the phone to his ear. "Conner." He sighed as the line didn't move. "Yes sir, his case is closed." He leaned to the side a bit. "I'm working on the, air quote vampire case." He stepped forward a bit as the line moved. "Yes two holes in the neck, drained of all their blood." He nodded. "Of course sir, I will call you when I come in later." He hung up the phone and put it back in his pocket.

Solomon grinned, almost chuckling, as the man got in line behind him. Just his luck, right? He lifted his head a bit, stepping forward as the line moved. Only three more...three more people to keep him away from his beloved cigarettes. He tried to tune out the detective behind him, but suddenly his short conversation caught his attention. Vampire case? He let out a silent growl of frustration. Now who's ass did he have to kick for being careless?

After about another twenty minutes, Solomon was finally at the counter. He looked to the associate, as the woman asked if he was buying his cigarettes today. "Of course I am~" he answered kindly; the fake happiness in his voice hard to detect, "The usual, Em." The brunette woman moved to grab the correct cigarettes from over head, scanned them, then handed them to Solomon and waited for payment. Solomon pulled out his wallet while he waited, and as he was handed the cigarettes, he handed the girl a twenty dollar bill. She gave him the change and he was on his way. He was not about to leave without following the detective, so he stood outside, a good considerate distance from the door, lit up his last cigarette in the old box, and waited.

Randy smiled as the line kept moving, now he was second in line. He was dying for a cigarette right now, but he could wait for less then thirty seconds. He caught a glimpse of the males face that was in front of him. He looked familiar, but he couldn't think of how he knew that. "Hey Emily, two." He nodded as he pulled out his wallet. He placed a twenty on the counter as the woman grabbed the packs of cigarettes. He grabbed them when they were placed on the counter, and put one of the packs in his vest pocket. He held out his hand for the change and smiled, "Thanks hun. Have a good day." He waved as he headed to the door, packing the pack of cigarettes in his hand.

Randy pulled off the plastic on the outside and stuffed it in his pocket. Quickly pulling off the foil on the inside and putting it in his pocket as well. He pulled out a cigarette and placed it between his lips, pulling out his lighter as he walked out the door. Quickly lighting it and sighing out the smoke. "Awesome." He chuckled as he headed to his car.

Solomon glanced over as he sensed the detective coming, a slight grin coming over his face. Oh~ The amusement he'd have tonight. Solomon wasn't usually the evil or devious type, but tonight he was feeling a touch of chaos coming on~ He watched as the detective headed towards his car, gathering the location of his residence from his mind; without alerting him of course. Sometimes, it was nice to be a vampire...it came in handy in situations like this.

With another drag, he started off, walking back towards his apartment. He'd visit the detective tonight. He had to figure what this 'vampire case' was and if it endangered the secrecy of vampires. While he could easily pull the information from the man's mind and erase any trace of him doing so, the human sometimes still felt something was off and often investigated causing more issues. It'd be easier to coax it out of him with the aid of his power.

Randy got to his car and unlocked the door, quickly climbing in and putting the keys in the ignition. He turned the keys just a bit so he could open the window, he pressed the button and rolled it down halfway. He put the stick between his lips and pulled on his seat belt. Fully starting his car and backing out of the stall, then driving out of the parking lot.

About ten minutes later he pulled into the driveway of the house he inherited from his parents when they died. It wasn't a big house, just a standard two story house. He quickly got out of the car and went to the front door and unlocked it stepping in a moment later. He shut the door and chuckled when he heard the pitter patter of paws running from the kitchen.

Randy knelt down as his pit bull puppy rounded the corner. "Hi Alexa. How's my baby girl?" He smiled as the puppy plopped down in front of her master. He started to pet the puppy and she rolled over onto her back, begging for a belly rub. "You want a belly rub?" He chuckled as he complied, rubbing her belly."Ok, daddy has to work on a case." He stood and walked into the living room, closely followed by the pup.

Solomon took a right turn just as he came across the detective's street. He quickly manipulated the human's within a 2 block radius, preventing their eyes from picking up his form while he stood outside Randall's house. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets after checking the time; 3:10pm. There was still an immense amount of time until sundown. It would be best of him to wait; as it would be easier to be unnoticed. He could not block himself from being seeing while worming around in Randall's mind. "This out to be interesting..." He said to himself, listening to the man speak to the puppy. He quickly extended his power to the dog, preventing it from noticing his presence any further while he made his way to the back yard, making himself comfortable on a bench while he eavesdropped on the detective's thoughts.

Alexa's ears perked up when she felt a weird presence outside. She started to whimper as she ran to the front door.

Randy stopped and turned to Alexa, "What's wrong?" He turned to the door. He peeked out the peephole, "There isn't anything out there." He shook his head. "Do you have to go potty?" He stepped back from the door and looked down at the pup. He chuckled when he saw the pups ears perk up even more with the mention of going outside. He turned and started to the patio doors, he opened them and waved for the dog to go out. "Well go on, just come back in when your done." He chuckled. He didn't have to worry about her running off since the backyard was fenced in.

Randy headed to the kitchen to grab a soda, since it was to early for alcohol. When he reached the fridge he grabbed out a coke and leaned against the counter as he opened it. Where did I see that guy before? He thought as he took a drink. "Well whoever he was he was kinda cute. Even though I didn't see his full face." He mused aloud. "Plus he had a nice ass." He chuckled heartily as he headed to the living room.

Alexa scampered out the door and out to the backyard. She started to growl at the bench, she could feel something wasn't right.

Solomon glanced down as the dog came over to him, raising a brow. He was supposed to be blocking himself from the dog as well, but how could she still sense he was there? Interesting...wait what? He reached his hand out in front of the dogs nose, not moving an inch as it hovered about 2 inches from her nose. His eyes however, looked towards the house as he picked up a few words from Randy. Is he talking about me? He was curious as to how the dog was aware of his presence, even after he was blocking himself from all her senses. He just hoped the dog didn't bite him. It would hurt, and bleed a bit before it would heal, but he wouldn't utter a sound of course. He'd just be really annoyed.

Randy walked into the living room and plopped down on the couch, he scooted forward a bit and opened up his laptop. "I wonder if there are any other times this happened." He mumbled to himself as he waited for his laptop to boot up. He opened his internet and typed something in the search bar. He hummed as he searched through the articles and sighed as he didn't find anything.

Alexa sniffed and moved closer to the hand, she opened her mouth to bite. She bit down hard at the hand and growled.

At The same time:

Randy stumbled upon a article from 1914, he read it and raised his eyebrows when he saw a picture. "Mr. Solomon James Kalika is the wealthiest man in America to date..." He trailed off as he stared at the picture. He mumbled something incoherent as he scrambled to his feet to go and grab a folder of people to watch out for. He grabbed the folder and moved back to the couch. He searched through the folder until he got what he was looking for. He held up the picture next to the laptop screen, his eyes widened.

"This isn't possible." Randy stuttered out. The pictures are exactly the same... One was older but still the same.

Solomon winced a bit as the dog bit down on his hand. He expected this, but hoped it wouldn't happen either way. He sighed softly, tugging at his hand lightly to see if the dog would let go..of course, she did not. He took his other hand and gently grabbed the top of her jaw while he used both to pry them open. Of course, this was only possible due to his increased strength from being a vampire. He was careful to not hurt her either while he did this. He pulled both hands away quickly and disappeared, reappearing on the roof. Now at a safe height, he went back to focusing on Randy. He was surprised about something, so he stealthy went searching his mind; hoping to not alert the man to something rooting in his mind. He glanced to his hand, watching the small teeth marks heal away. Stupid animals...

Randy quickly got up off of the couch and ran to get his scanner, he came back after a few moments and hooked up the scanner to his laptop. He put the picture on the scanner and quickly scanned it into the laptop. He looked up when he heard Alexa whine loudly, "Alexa!" He yelled as he looked at the two pictures on the laptop. "This is fucked up." He mused aloud.

"Solomon James Kalika in 1914, Solomon James Gregory now..." Randy ran his hand through his hair. "How can this be? They look the same..." He bit his lip. He looked up when he heard a thud on the roof and Alexa barking. He got off of the couch and went outside, "Alexa what in the fuck are you barking at?" He looked at the roof and saw nothing. "Get your ass in the house." He pointed. The dog didn't move and kept barking at the roof. He sighed and picked up the dog, "Come on." He started back into the house.
