They all happen in the same "world" so to speak, but you don't need to play any of them to enjoy a single one.

Ah, good. Five games worth of lore is a lot to catch up on, y'know?

I know they take place in a school type setting, but that's about the extent of my knowledge. Not even sure about the total accuracy of that lol.

Yes. The main characters are all school students. The first two don't have the same time related element and the later ones though, so it's more a part of their character than a game aspect.

Just try to remember to not get cocky when playing, it's very difficult to actually be overpowered because of the way the battle system is made. And this is a good thing until you forget, get cocky, and some enemy group wipes the floor with you XD
