So as some of you may know Pinkie hates hates HATES storms so freaken much. They scare me like nothing else...except clowns =shivers= Anyways getting off topic here.

This morning at 7am I was woken up by a large clap of thunder. It lasted for a couple seconds. As soon as it went off I was up for the day.

This though is not the bad thing. Listening to the radio right now while sitting here and all I hear is thunder storm this and tornado that....I dont want it!!!!

So...Pinkie knows the scientific reason behind storms and thunder and all that jazz but it still scares her really bad and the fact that shes sitting at home all alone today when we are supposed to get a nasty thunder storm and possible tornado makes things even worse! Not to mention I live in an apartment...where do I go if we get a tornado?!?

Do storms freak you out? If so what do you do to take your mind off of it?

I am absolutely TERRIFIED of tornadoes. And unfortunately there's not much I've found that can keep me calm...

I try to read a book and listen to my I-Pod, occasionally I'll have someone next to me and they'll help to keep my mind off of it...

I'm not a big fan of thunderstorms either...separate I kinda enjoy all aspects of storms, but together, nope...Lightning is really, really pretty. Thunder has a lovely sound and in large gyms sounds a bit like cannon fire. Rain is BRILLIANT! I love standing out in a small spring/summer rain.

But as soon as two or more of those factors are put together, it's horrid!!!

umm i have yet to experiance a tornado, earthquake, tsunami, or anything else that is not a heavy rain storm.
so the most i know of storms is heavy rain or frozen rain... nothing else

I'm scared of thunder if I'm not expecting it or if it's loud and shakes the building >< I don't think there's any reason to be ashamed of fears, most fears are not grounded in reality and cannot just be reasoned away. So don't feel bad Pinkie :3

To take my mind off things, I usually try hard to think of something else. The best way is if someone holds me but I haven't had that option for a while :p

...-awkward grin- Espy loves thunderstorms, as long as it's not hot at the same time. And lightning. And thunder. And really heavy rain.

I don't get tornadoes around where I live, but there are earthquakes. The ones that you can actually feel aren't too frequent.

To answer the question of where to go it depends on the type of apartment you're in. If it's an enclosed apartment, meaning the hallways and stairs are enclosed you go to the bottom of an enclosed stairwell. Or, if there's a basement(like with washing machines or some such) go there. If you're in an exposed apartment(the hallways/stairs are open) you need to go into a room with no windows, commonly a bathroom. Or, if you have a large one a coat closet will work. If you're on the 3+ floor you might be safer if you go outside and crawl into a large ditch if the storm is really bad.

The ONLY upside to living everywhere means I've been drilled for just about every type of natural disaster you can imagine.

♫♪I was in two tornadoes in my life. The last one
was quite a few years ago and it bounced off the
top of my apartment building while I was in the
upstairs bedroom and hit the building across the
street from me and demolished the upstairs apartments.
Needless to say.. my husband was freaking the frick
out while I was trying to get my cats to take them
to safety LOL.

I love thunderstorms. At times I might get freaked out
if I'm alone and it's really bad and I don't know where
I am going to go if it turns into a tornado and what I
am going to do with my cats since I can't carry 4 of them
by myself. But otherwise I don't mind them. I live in
Wisconsin so we get a ton of tornado warnings during the
summers and it kinda grows on you to be honest. ♭

I actually like storms they make me sleepy and want to play video games. xD I am afraid of tornadoes though, I've been in one once and it hit my house. My mom came running into my room and dragged me out of bed and we went to the bathroom to be safe and I remember the wind just pushing against our house and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner was right in my face. It was scary. Thunder puts me to sleep, idk how. xD
