Why was there a hold in the first place?

Also, no running water. Only one way in and out of the (man created) island again, and we had no power for 2 hours. Only good thing was I was at a friends for the worst of it so I got home today and no big damages to the house.

i had forgotten my ID and couldn't prove I was who I said I was so they put a hold on my account saying that my card was not in my possession.

I'm glad there's no big damages to your house! Gallagher said they lost power as well.

They are saying that it is 6 billion dollars in damage nation wide. Over half of my city is underwater we got 14 inches of rain.

It really wasn't that bad in my area at all. No damage to the house, all the lawn furniture was where we left it. There was flooding in the main streets, but all the residentials are built up so houses really don't get flooded out or anything like that. Water didn't even reach our garden, and there was only 1 moderate sized branch in our yard after all was said and done.

AND YET

AFTER THE WORST OF THE STORM ***HAD***ALREADY***PASSED***

WE LOST POWER FOR AN ENTIRE DAY???????

my allergies are driving me nuts today.

it was like 100% humidity all weekend. now it's lower - last night our outside sensor on the themostat said it was like 50-something%, and my weather app says it's like 35%. my sinuses don't like humidity changes, so they're all stuffy and driving me nuts. *sigh*

my nose has been a little runny today! Maybe I have new allergies! o3o

I'm also very sleepy v.v Brady woke me up when he got up for work and I couldn't fall back asleep right then but now i think i could nap xD

See, what happened was the hurricane rolled through, wiggled some things in the power plant, but nothing broke.

It did push some stuff around, though, and people moving things around to keep them from harm before the storm left a few stacks of boxes in somewhat precarious arrangements.

So, the day after the storm, everything was okay, people were watching the power all nice, and then, suddenly BANG! one of those stacks of boxes fell over, and the inspector dropped his coffee in surprise, shorting out the monitoring systems, causing an emergency stop to all the power!



Moral of the story: Coffee is gross.

Yeah I am glad that we didn't lose power but someone hit a transformer and knocked out the power like an idiot.

Coffee is scarce right now, the boil water advisory has forces coffee shops to close down.
