Trisphee's Mad Hatter
Default Much ado about nothing?   #1
So I have this friend, I use the term lightly.
He only says hello to me once in a while, like once a year or longer. We've only spoken online but should I be thinking it strange that we lose touch and don't talk for a long time, then he contacts me out of the blue again just to say hello. He contacted me again a few days ago, we spoke about video games. I asked him a question and now he's too busy to reply to something that would take not even a minute to answer.

This isn't something I am angry about, just very puzzled.

Shouldn't "friends" speak a little more than this?

But we only speak online, can you be just an acquaintance online? only saying hello literally once a year?

Friends should definitely speak more than that. I speak to my...friends fairly frequently (for some, it is daily).

Given, I don't find it odd to send a casual acquaintance a message once in awhile and say "hi, how are you" and that's basically the extent of a conversation.

If it was every two weeks I'd be happy.
It's only once in a blue moon and it's . . .strange for lack of a better term.

I'm just trying to understand it.

some people are just that way dear, if it bothers you then just don't reply

I am only trying to understand the behavior and get some insight to it.

It's like this, you have a question but you don't know the answer to it.
I know the answer isn't important, it's the understanding it is.

I'm sorry, I don't feel as if I am explaining it very well.

Like division, the answer doesn't matter. The process of finding it out does.

It happens with a friend of mine as well. I understand that he has a busy life and doesn't have much time for facebook and such. We hardly see each other offline either. When you reach your 20's, it's a busy time.

I don't talk to my friends all that frequently either. I wouldn't be angry if I were you. It's just one of those things.

But I'm not angry, never was.

I'll see if I can rephrase my words to get my question across better.

Not to be possibly unhelpful but I feel this is just one of those things that can't be explained unless your friend told you straight up. There could be many a reason or something as simple as, "I don't know."

Not to sound weird but sometimes things aren't that creepy, really creep me out or make me feel weird. I can't explain why I feel that way, I just do.

I'm sorry your friend is acting this way, have you just asked him?
