Hello, and welcome to [Name Pending]! This roleplay is based on a mix of modern day technology and ancient Egyptian gods. To join in, you can choose to be a god/dess (both antagonists and protagonists), demi-god/dess, or human. In the 21st century, the old gods of Egypt had been all but forgotten; replaced by human ingenuity and technology. Humans had learned to live without relying on divine intervention. Other gods, those who had been judged unworthy to move on to eternity or had chosen to remain among the humans on Earth, had adapted to the human way of life and embraced the advancement of society. Some had families, lives, while others merely lived by themselves enjoying the serenity of the Earth.

One day, however, the rage of the gods in eternity reached its boiling point. For too long, they had watched as humans continued on without them, forgetting them and their power. The humans had created technology to replace their divinity, knowledge to replace the void of knowledge the gods had left behind. It was time for the gods to assert their authority over the earth once more.

With a vengeance, they made themselves known, destroying many who opposed them. Different areas were destroyed by different catastrophes: coastal areas were inundated by tidal waves; fault-line areas were ripped apart by the moving earth, which led to landslides; hurricanes, tornadoes, and blizzards tormented the rest of the world. The gods also took their vengeance on the electronics and technology the humans had created to "replace" them. Signals died, communication devices only tuned to static, and the world was cast into a second Dark Age.
