Double Posting | #1 | ||
Is it ok to double post if the last post you made was the only post in your entire thread and it's been several months since you made the thread?

Double posting's fine. It's triple posting that we've issues with.
EDIT: Er....not sure about the necroing, though. STONEWALL WAS A RIOT

I hope someone comes by and let's me know if it's ok.
And the thread is still on the first page. On other sites, necroing is ok if it's by the thread owner, but not sure if it's the same on here.

I think it -should- be fine. You're talking about your selling thread?

No, it's a buying art request thread.
Hence why I said the only post in the entire thread was the intro post by me, so I wanted to know if I could bring it up again or should I just remake it?

It is ok to double post in a thread, but not triple as Espy already said. It is also ok to bring the thread back up as long as you have new information to add to it. Hope this helps.

We would much rather you re-raise a thread from the dead (as long as it has new information as Ashy said) rather than create a duplicate one.

I think in the case of threads in the buisiness area, like art request, buying/selling, quest threads, necroing is okay since it's preferred people stick to one thread, or so I've gathered from the rules.

I was wondering about a certain thread.
It's a few pages back... which made me extremely sad. I've been debating whether to make a new one or add something to the old one. I /do/ I have something new to add. So, this helped me too. Thank you! ♥

If you have something new to add, go ahead and add it to the old thread.

Here's my response, but it's not official because I'm not the mod of that section:
In my opinion, no, that exception doesn't apply there. Consider this: If there were 29 people with hangout threads in Club House, and those 29 people all made a habit of bumping their threads when they got knocked down onto page 2, it would be a constant cycle of bumping, because every post would ALWAYS knock someone down to page 2. (There are two stickies in Club House and there are 30 threads per page.) The point of the front page is to give easy access to threads that are actually seeing activity, and bump posts disrupt that by putting a thread that people AREN'T posting in at the top. (If people WERE posting in it, the bump post wouldn't be necessary, after all.) The exception for adding actual content always applies to every thread in every section at all times -- if you have something significant to add to the thread, and it's been long enough that you couldn't just reasonably edit it into your last post, an extra post is always okay, even if you're still on the first page. That's why our necroposting rule has nothing to do with time and everything to do with adding something useful to the thread. Edit: Just to reiterate: This is my personal opinion, not official Trisphee staff policy.
