Mmmm, Green Eggs and Ham. My teachers and parents thought I was reading it from memory since they read it to me a lot, but it was the first book I actually sounded out words on my own.

LOL my dad THOUGHT I was reading the Cat in the Hat when I was two...but I'd memorized it and was 'reading' to my dolls. The first book I read for myself was Max the Cat and the Big Fat Rat. It was haaaaard.
I've gone to look for myself, if I should return before I get back keep me here.

The Nose Book by Dr. Seuss.
My mother read it so often to me that she says I probably have id memorized rather than actually reading it though.

I think that mine was The Z was Zapped. It was one of my favorite alphabet books as a child and I have to admit a little morbid.

Not sure the exact book. I know I got into my older sister's Hooked On Phonics and then after that, I couldn't keep my hands off of 'em my teacher told me I read too well. *laughs*

(。◕‿◕。) The first book I ever read was one of the American Girls books. I loved that series. I read most of them. I haven't read 3 of the girls books though. Josephiena, Felicity and that other new girl. ╚═════════════════════════════════╝

Can't remember though I recall books like the Very Hungry Catapillar, the Little Miss and Little Mister series, Clifford the Big Red Dog. If I were to guess, my first venture into reading was probably a little Golden Book of some sort (didn't really have Doctor Sseus around) or Once Upon a Potty.

I think it was at once a counting book, a search & find book, and a learn-to-read boo, though I can't remember the name of it. It was rather awesome, though, and I loved it as a child.
Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion between supposed lovers. Between supposed brothers.
