"Where to, Miss? To the Stars."
Question Paranormal Experiences   #1
Okay...I know I'm going to regret writing this because it's nearing my bed time but whatever. I've had two paranormal experiences in my life. This all happened in the same house that's located near a cemetery town so this might be why but who knows.

The first one freaked me out the most so it's definitely something worth sharing. Last summer, I decided to sleep at a girlfriend's house after spending the whole day hanging around at my old elementary school (this will be important later on). We were nearly asleep. I'm an extremely light sleeper and she's the complete opposite. I wake up around 3 AM to children laughing. It sounded like it was either in the room or the hallway right outside. Mind you, there are no children in this house. Besides my girlfriend and I, it's just her parents and her 30+ year old brothers. Thinking I was still half-asleep dreaming, I disregard it and continue sleeping. Fast forward what could be a couple hours later, I wake up and hear someone talking in the room which was odd because she keeps her door locked, no one could have gotten inside, and it wasn't her because she was deep asleep. Again, I disregard it as half-asleep dreaming. In the morning, I woke up to my girlfriend squeezing my arm. This might be funny but she told me she heard a "toy squeaking" in one of her drawers. Having no previous paranormal experience, I was freaked out and pondered if what I heard last night was really due to my dreams. We leave and sit on different sides of the living room. A moment later, I hear the creepiest "toy squeak" behind my ear and she hears it too. I scream and she tells me she heard it behind her ear as well. Strange. I repeat, we were on opposite sides of the room.

Later that day, my girlfriend's brother and his mother are chatting about why he doesn't answer her phone calls. He says he doesn't receive any phone calls from her and pulls her contact page up. On the contact page, it has your number and usually slots for other information like birthday and address. Underneath address was the elementary school that I have previously visited the day before's address instead of her house address. He did not enter that in or have any knowledge that we visited that school.

I came to the conclusion that a presence from the school followed us home and wanted to get our attention. Especially since it was children that I heard.

Have you guys ever experienced anything paranormal or out of the ordinary?

Okay well I wouldn't consider this exactly paranormal but it is creepy and something I thought I'd share. I think it'd be considered out of the ordinary haha.

During the Summer I work at a sleep-away camp where once a session we take the kids to a smaller camp ground that's about a 15 minute walk away from the main camp. We call it an overnight, we make a fire with our group of kids, stuff our faces with junk food and the youth can stay up for as long as they please and it's just fun.

It was nearing twelve in the morning when my co and our kids decided that they wanted to retreat to the tents and settle in. I wanted to stay up a little longer because there was a super cool meteorite shower. So I'm alone, sitting on a rock by the water, shrubs behind me and there's a small path between the shrubs and a giant rock that goes up to where the fire is then just beyond that is the tents. I'm just trying to describe this the best that I can so you can get a decent idea of what it looks like haha.

I'm alone, laying down, watching the sky when a rock skips across the rock I'm on and into the water. I sit up, look behind me and I see no one. So I shout "that's funny, who is it?" and there's no response. I stand up, I'm now facing the shrub and I ask again. I hear all my kids and my co from the tents say "everyone's in the tents". WHAT. I immediately panic and rush up the small path to the fire because I'm terrified something's there and take a moment to study the area but I can't see anything. At this point my kids are asking what's wrong and I just rush to the tent.

My kids know that something is up because I literally wouldn't shut up about the meteorite shower for weeks and now I'm in the tent peeking out trying to see if I can catch it from there and see if someone is hanging around our campground but I can't see anything suspicious so I just decide to sleep. Maybe the kids were messing with me.

During the night I remember being half asleep and sleeping with my arm behind my head and my elbow touching the end of the tent. I felt something touch me but when I opened my eyes I saw nothing and couldn't tell if I had dreamt it or not. The next morning I mention it and a kid in my tent mentioned seeing someone drag their hand across the back of our tent and then the kids from the other tent say they saw the same thing. And they heard walking around.

We all freak out and pack up our stuff and I'm telling them "let's get the fuck out of here!" and we leave. I spoke to my boss because sometimes other staff will sneak into the overnight camp sights to mess with the groups but apparently no one had come by to spook us. And the next group that went to it was given a hatchet by the nature specialist because there was a concern of someone hanging around the camp sights. WHAT.

It just made me so uncomfortable and freaked me out. It's been two years and no one has come forward about it. ; A;

I've not had any but my mother is very sensitive when it comes to spirits. I dont mean she sits around channeling them but she has had many different experiences in many different places.

One I will always remember her telling me is that when she was 4 or 5 years old in Ireland, she lived at some place called Dyke Parade in Cork City, County Cork, Ireland. No, I am not being rude or slandering others, thats actually what this place is called. She said that living there she knew a boy. I dont recall what his name was but I've heard it before. Anyway, she was apparently the only one who could see this boy. She had no idea no one else could see him for quite a while to. Declan! Thats the kids name. It just popped in my head. Anyway, she used to play with Declan and people would ask her who she was talking to. Everyone brushed it off as an imaginary friend until one day she told her da that Declan was burried under a bush in the garden and that he had been for longer than either of them were alive. My granda told her to stop being a messer (meaning a fool or jokster in Irish slang). He told her Declan didnt exist and told her to drop it. She didnt. Word apparently got out and the neighborhood kids were teasing her. She continued on about Declan and her parents had enough amd moved.
Fast forward to when she's 16 in 1979. She's an unwed teen expecting twins (my brother and I). Ireland was a very Catholic nation at this point. Contraceptives were illegal as well as divorce (even in circumstances of abuse and adultery) along with other things along this nature. Her parents disowned her for "bringing shame on their good Catholic name". My father lets his older brother, my Uncle Levi know whats up and he invites them to stay with him and his family in Dublin City, County Dublin. My Uncle is a retired history professor and at the time was still working. He was headed back to Cork City to do some research about something he planned on teaching. My mother asked him if he could look up death records for the Dyke Parade area and gave him Declan's full name. Sure enough he came back later than evening and said he found Declan's death record. He apparently lived in Dyke Parade and died of hunger in the potato famine. Apparently the family burried him under the bush because they couldnt even afford food, so how would they be able to afford a funeral?
So, Mammy's "imaginary friend" was the spirit of an actual deceased boy.

Like I said, she's spiritually sensitive and has more than just this story.
