Reyoki
Best thing since cheese-in-a-can!
|
#17 | |||
Reyoki's tail flicked about restlessly behind her as she observed the myriad of new characters arriving. The oddity of them all reminded her of the favored taverns for treasure hunters back home. The difference, though, was that she could recognize at least some of the faces back home.
She sat with her back facing the bar and leaned against it as she watched what was slowly becoming a crowd begin to congregate in the bar/lobby area. She reached into a small hidden pouch on her belt and pulled out a piece of dried meat. She took a sizable bite of it and began to chew, savoring the flavor of it.

Ignoring the confused and now tiny cat, the blue woman (going to call her that for now because I don't have a name for her) scans her eyes around the room. Things look relatively normal as far as Inns go; people at tables, at the bar, eating, even if the clientelle is particularly ecclectic. She notes the small figure, the doll, is appears, that cause her normally fierce companion to turn tail. She didn't recognize many of the people present, save for two men: one she thought might be tangi, save for his oddly delicate and more 'pleasing' features, and one that was.
She would much prefer to be back home, dismal as it could be at times, and was not pleased about having to walk herself about on land, the tiny moat harldy suitable for her purposes. *At least Neko is with me* she thought as her land-bound travelling companion gradually returned to it's formerly larger and more menacing size, but keeping beind the woman this time. (hope this makes sense. Tired and there may be run-ons in here).

Wayward Victorian Doll

The doll fell face-first to the floor, caught off guard by the sudden transformation and disappearance of the animal she had been giving affection. Slowly bringing herself upright on her knees, the doll saw the animal just as it had reached its master and transformed again.
Though she had only encountered animals on a few occasions in her short life, every time they had stayed and allowed her to play, regarding her as something like a moving tree or signpost. Having felt rejection for the first time, the doll stared in shock, and soon dark black pools began to gather in the corners of her lifelike eyes. A light whimper slowly escaped from within her, and it was obvious that she was close to letting out tearful sobs.

The blue woman looked at the doll with some sympathy, but offered only a brief comment, "you startled him."
The cat was low to the floor, in a prowling posture with it's ears and face pointed towards the distraut doll, as if still deciding what to make of her, occasionally directing it's gaze quickly around the room at the other individuals. Eventually it sat up and began whiping it's face. The blue woman then adressed the room at large, "is there a proprietor here?"

"There doesn't appear to be one," Reyoki said to the blue woman after swallowing her jerky. She watched the large feline a for a moment before remarking, "That's quite the companion you have there. Was it difficult to train?"
((Blah, short post is extra-short from lack of activity))

(Sorry guys, been ill)
The blue woman gives a small smile and rubs a hand on the demonic cat's withers. "He is less trained than spoken to. Though learning to communicate took some time." The cat was still looking intently at the moving doll, though it had settled itself into a lying position on the floor beside the chair that the blue woman had chosen for herself.
