Default I Hate Doctors   #1
Well this is a first, making a thread in this Forum I mean.

I had my last Period in mid December and, thinking that things were going the way Pat and I wanted, we assumed that I may be pregnant.

I took three urine tests that all said negative, but since the same thing happened to my sister who was two months in her pregnancy, and my Mom had always used blood tests, I figured that urine tests simply don't work in my family.

I went to a doctor to get a blood test, and the ever so paranoid doctor decided to run other tests as well.

Turns out I'm not pregnant like we wanted, instead my testosterone levels are high.

This pretty much means, that unless I get on medication, I won't be able to fulfill my life's dream of being a Mom.

And yes, I know there's adoption, and I'd love to adopt, but I don't think I could handle not being able to have my own child.

I don't have insurance by the way, so any and all medications and specialists that my doctor wants to throw at me are going to be ridiculously costly, not to mention that I don't have a job, and Pat only has a minimum wage job, and we're living with my parents.

So I'm stressed as hell and I don't know what is going on.

I have the symptoms of being pregnant, but I'm not.

I'm overly emotional(I'm assuming that's because of the testosterone), tired, dry but clearing up skin(which is the opposite of PCOS) queasy yet hungry often at the same time, and my breasts are getting bigger(another opposite symptom)

I'd love to hear opinions on this, as I'm currently feeling dead inside and my brain is a jumbled mess.

I had pregnancy-like symptoms before and when I went to my gyneocologists about it, she told me that I was at my peak of ovalation.

Ovalation has some pregnancy-like symptoms of for me I was breaking out, breast tenderness and swollen, swollen feet and wrists, eating more, and not to mention being 'horny'. For me these symptoms lasts me for a couple of days before my period would kick in. Then it ends up being painful.

I was going to prove to everyone that I'm not pregnant by getting a pregnancy test, then I decided not to get one cause I was going to the gyneocologist anyway.

Oh hun..I'm really sorry. Like Echo, I've had pregnancy symptoms before and some one told me it sounded like I was almost but didn't take thus the heavier period shortly after.

You might look and try Pre-Seed lub..its sperm friendly. It supposedly helps the sperm be safe in lack of better wording. Its kinda pricey about $20 I think. But if you look it up online there are alot of people who said with in a few months of using it they get pregnant. My hubby and I are going to go back to using it once his mom moves out.

Thanks so much littl3chocobo

They do sell ovolation tests, its like a pregnancy test but its for when you are ovolating to better conceive (they sell them in basic drug stores and chain grocery stores, same aisle with condoms and prego tests)

Well think about it, You don't have a job, Pat gets minimum wage, and you live with your parents. Maybe this is a sign that you should wait, maybe it's a blessing in disguise. I know it's harsh but from the sounds of it, your life is not ready for a baby to be included into it.

Just curious about how old you are. Cause... I mean I'd worry more about getting a steady job and some insurance so that hopefully you CAN get that medication and you can become a mom. If you're still young enough, I wouldn't stress about it too much just yet.

But... I don't know how it feels, either, since I've never wanted my own child. But I've seen it happen, and it's really sad. I really hope that it works out for you. <3

You're gunna want to slap me for this comment but 'everything happens for a reason' perhaps yes its not time just yet. as for everything else it come simply be psycological. Sounds silly I know but your want for a child is strong, that's apparent.

Maybe once you get out on your own and in a great spot to raise a child with enough financial stability everything will fall into place. I know I sound cold but I work as a Cake decorator in a store with lots of low income families. It's just heart breaking to see a small chidl point to the cakes in my case "Mommy it's my birthday! can I get a cake" and the responce is always "no, we dont have the money" ungh.... the joys of parenthood is well worth the cost but jsut... think about it. You're going to want to spoil your kid besure you can =D

I hope everyone realizes that she's trying to figure out what the high testosterone thing could be. She's stressing out because there's a possibility that she may NEVER BE ABLE TO CONCIEVE. We don't care about minumum wages, living with parents etc etc, and the whole it happens for a reason gig has been repeated over and over to us till our eyes become glazed with monotony. All she wanted was a "does anyone have these symptoms" and a "I could use some assurance that someday I will have a child". DANG! sorry, I just hate to see everyone miss the big picture here.

Oh, Fizz... ::hugs tightly:: I'm so sorry to hear about all of this. I know this is a very late reply, but I want to post.

When I read what Pat said above me, I felt horrible. I didn't think of what this could mean for your future of getting pregnant. All I can say that's even slightly reassuring is: Think of what Azrael said. She could have a point about your youth. Maybe some time in the future your body will sort itself out. Even if not, you mentioned your doctor bringing out specialists and medications concerning the issue. Though there might not be the money for it now, in the future there could be. Once you have the opportunity to get yourself thoroughly checked, you might find reassuring information. I know it's hard to wait when it comes to pressing matters, but just a little while and you might have some really good information thrown your way.

Until then, you have people who care about you and want to comfort you until you get that information. When you find out what's going on, your husband will love you. Your family will stand by your side and support you, no matter what the results are. Your friends on Trisphee will be waiting for you. Remember these things.
