Jester: Lol...in my case it's just too many hobbies and not enough time.

Had a semi-productive holiday off yesterday. Got 3 loads of laundry done (1 of which was mostly just socks lol), finished 1 blanket square and read about 1 chapter. And played animal crossing for about 30 minutes.

I've probably done myself in by deciding that I'm done not being able to backdate on my NaNoRiMo related Dreamwidth community, so I'll be transferring EVERYTHING to a basic Dreamwidth journal account instead.

Maxwell went running off this morning and I had to go chase his ass down... so my plans for the day went out the window because my body went "Oh, you walked around the low-income housing in the cold. we're just gonna SLEEP THE DAY AWAY."

I was gonna do a batch of sewing and now my brain's going "No."

Ack. Hope you're feeling better now.

I spent several hours today in the bathtub after remembering that the bathroom SINK still has hot water, and that I have a big basin and enough muscles to fill it and dump it.

Just bought new yarn! Should feel bad about it probably, but I promised myself to make something with it this year and I even bought some new shawl patterns for it.
Once I'm done cleaning my apartment, I can wind the yarn into cakes and...then agonize over which pattern would look better with it for 6 months. Lol

i got some cotton yarn to make some potholders to hang on some of my kitchen cabinets - even though i don't want to take down my Halloween ones yet XD

No prizes for me this month. I just found out I had my medicine delivered to the OLD address. Which means I'm not getting it and had to spend the money again. *head desk*

Also...not sure if I love the yarn I bought as much as I did in store. The colors are pretty, but the color shifts are much shorter than I anticipated. But I started a shawl with it so I guess we'll see how it works up in a few months or so.

Someone from the old building called me yesterday while I was down frowning at the mailbox here. I've returned the call, but they don't have voice mail and haven't gotten back to me yet. What I get for leaving the phone behind.

Am about 1/3 through section 1 of the pattern (it's divided into 4 sections) and it looks like this so far.


I like the colors, I just don't like how short the variegated sections are, so idk.

Those are really pretty colors! I can understand what your saying though. I picked out some yarn once that was multicolored and the colors themselves were really pretty however, it turned out to not be the best choice for a blanket I guess or maybe it was the pattern my grandma used because the colors all just kind of mixed up. It didn't really create like a gradient effect I was hoping for where you'd have more of one color visibly shift to the next. Well, that's the best way I can explain it anyway.

Yeah, I get what you mean. Sometimes it's just hard to tell what projects multicolored yarn will work for and how long the color gradients in yarn are until you start working on something.
I'll still finish the shawl with the yarn, but it's going straight into my "stock for a future online shop" bin with no hesitation once it's finished.
