Our own IT class was pretty much our teacher sat on the front desk reading the newspaper while everyone else browsed the internet.

Yeah, it was. To be honest I didn't complain about a free hour to goof around online back then... yet it would've been cool if he actually, ya know, taught us computer stuff.

when I was a child we had a computer class that was basically 'how to use windows 95'
because it was 1995. Good times.

I had Windows 95 figured out on my own soon enough - but I'll never forget how I stared at the computer for the first time when it looked so beeping different from 3.1
Then grandpa was actually the one who found out how to start a game. I think I spent a whole week doing nothing but Solitaire and Space Cadet on our new PC.

Yeah dude. We got to progress to our ends somehow. Removing minesweeper and snake is just one of the many tiny steps we got to take for the end to come. (8

I was learning Basic in 1984/85. On a Texas Instruments machine. With a cassette tape for data storage.
