That's so true; They really shouldn't have tried to play that game. You would also think that by now that the other gods wouldn't trust anything Loki said or suggested >.>

You know, not to mention, it seems kind of like a plot device that Frigga just so happened to overlook one thing in the world that could hurt Baldr. I call plot-induced stupidity on the whole thing.

I am really REALLY happy that everyone likes the monthlies. Duchess did an awesome job with her monthly, And I feel all happy because people like the monthlies I designed and pixeled as well. (Thank lucid for saving me time, she flatted the images for me so i didnt have to xD). I was really afraid of how these would be received and it makes me feel much better to know now i have a whole new world of possibilities open further without upsetting people.

It wasn't that Frigga overlooked something that could hurt him, it could hurt him because Frigga overlooked it. Generally speaking, a stick really shouldn't do to much damage even if it is thrown pointy end first. Hodor had some help there. And yeah, that was the last straw for the gods at that point. Being strapped to a rock with poison dripping onto your face that hurts so much the writhing causes earthquakes is not so fun. Did anyone else know that Loki had a wife prior to that episode?
Where'd you get the shield, Suzerain?

And I believe I did know he had a wife. A giantess, if I remember correctly. I'd know her name if I saw it. I can't recall, likewise, if she was the mother of all three of Hel, Fenris, and Jormungandr or not. Oh, and the shield is from Pandora's Box of Hope. Ah. Right. I need those.
Loki usually managed to get back into the good-ish graces of the gods by fixing whatever issue he happened to cause in the first place. Killing Baldur though, kinda hard to reverse that one. Or was it Hel that wouldn't let him back out? Can't recall the last details except Loki running from angy pack of gods via fish hiding in a waterfall.

Hel said she'd return him to life if every soul, living or dead, would shed a single tear for him. The giantess, Thokk, who was Loki in disguise, refused to cry. That's when the gods found and bound Loki.

Ah I remember all of that from my mythology class. I still don't see how a mistletoe could kill a person much less a god unless they choked on it though >.>

Well, maybe his lack of protection was actually a vulnerability? Like, the mistletoe pierced his heart with no resistance and instantly killed him regardless of its physical properties?
It's hardly the strangest thing in Norse mythology. :p Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any sense of compassion between supposed lovers. Between supposed brothers.

I know. Poor Hodr. I honestly find his story sadder than Baldr's. I mean, come on, the guy just killed not only his brother, but VIKING JESUS for crying out loud. And what do the rest of the gods do? Oh, no, not try to console his guilt... they engender a child specifically designed to murder the poor guy. Like it was his fault.
