Ive had my laptop since 2008. Within the past year I've found my sound suddenly stops working. I turn it off and restart it and it works again. Any ideas? Sometimes I fiddle with some door on the right side of the laptop which is loose and not labelled. Could it be the sound card and it's just loose?

Turns out it some how muted itself and all I needed to do was swipe across the volume and it came back...
